I just heard back from my dealership, I've been waiting since December 18th, and I was told that manual TRD Pro production is done for this year and he can't get a Lunar Rock. They have a black m/t coming in mid-May but that's it. I have a black one and it sucks! Please share with me this precious info!

    Is this true? Seems early...

I do recall noticing last year that most MT PROs seemed to come early in the year... (yep - I was already looking...). Of course looking at the (Army Green) thread is not a good representation of actual production, but it was noticeable at least from that point of view.

There should be a Q2 MT PRO run coming... I guess we'll see...

I sure hope so, I really had no idea how scarce it would be. I thought mid-December would be early for the next model year, wow was I wrong. It's been neat learning the batch process that Toyota uses and it's good to know that the elusive nature of the manual tranny equipped flagship-colored truck will help it retain value down the road. Hopefully if another crop comes down the pipe in Q2 I can get my grubby hands on one.

That one guy who pops up on here from time to time who claims to work in this industry said he suspected 2021 would be the last model year of the MT.

My uncle who works as a systems engineer at Toyota in Texas also eluded to this late last year.

Nooooooo! This is the end then. I'm gonna get a Cybertruck or go fully autonomous now, fuck it. If I submit to our robot overlords earlier perhaps they'll treat me favorably.

Yeah, my uncle was a part of my decision to buy this year. The other was that I fell in love with LR as soon as I saw it.

My original plan was to wait and see what the Gen IV was going to be, but I didn't want to risk one last MT. I figure this will be my last one as my next truck will likely be electric.

Thats’s terrible news... offering a MT was a HUGE plus for me when narrowing down my vehicle selection. I guess I’ll count myself lucky to snag one before they go extinct.

Yeah, I really hope everyone is wrong. I'm already scared that something is going to happen to my Tacoma, a crash or whatever, and I won't be able to replace it and I'll be stuck with some shitty 10-speed automatic that shifts constantly, and robs 20% of the power in the name of 1 extra MPG.

    Hello Everybody,

I have a lunar rock pro coming in late April / Early may and am so excited! I just received the spec sheet from the dealer and they have added on the TRD pro graphics package for $700. I do not care for the graphics and would rather keep the money to do something else. The truck hasn't been built yet, have any of you been able to wave the graphics package (or any other stock package from the factory) and get them to not do include it?

Mine didn't come with the graphics, but did come with this... I didn't think that was a thing. The salesman was as shocked as I was. Incidentally, I went and put in the normal paper filter. haha! But it looks nice.

Congratulations! - Make sure to share some pics when you get it...

You can always ask to have it deleted... -there is a large chunk of profit baked in that $30 worth of vinyl though... so you may have better luck asking that they not install it.

I did not care for any add ons either, but I was fortunate to snag an M/T LR which was already allocated. (My original order from October is STILL months out - that is IF Toyota agrees to allocate it on the next go around...) so I am quite happy how things turned out.

My Taco was already specified with the graphics pkg and some other port add-on goodies which were specified and priced when the deal was inked. I also would have opted out of the Graphics at that silly price - I'd rather have the $600 & change (the pricing on mine) but there was no avoiding it.

    - On delivery, I was happy to find that there were some other goodies that were included on the Taco, which were never discussed or documented but were on the truck, or in the bed / back seat.
:bananadance::thumbsup:... so it was a nice offset.

I am not a Graphics package type normally... I was all gung-ho on removing the PRO Graphics, but everyone who I mentioned it to was enthusiastically against it. I decided to leave them alone for a while.

I would have kept the hood Graphic for anti glare purposes - this is necessary, in my view. I determined the need for blacking out the hood on my first Taco test drive, and would have done it on a PRO , and especially an OffRoad... (that is a LOT of real estate on there!).

The graphics have now grown on me... and they will stay on for the forseeable future. I like how they break-up the large expanses of single color areas on the bed sides. Now it seems that they belong there...

People compliment the Taco's LR color AND the look of the graphics; Noticeably - women are super enthusiastic about the look of my Taco. Some 8 to 10 times more women that guys offer their compliments

Guys tend to yell something across the parking lot or give thumbs-up on the road... While women come up to have a look and a chat about it.

If they haven't built it yet, you should be able to tell whoever is handling the order at the dealership you're working with to take that off the build sheet.
I had to do that with mine. They had added steps to mine, and I didn't want them, so I had them taken off.

When did you place your order? According to my dealership you still have 2-3 weeks between when the VIN is allocated and when the truck is built to make changes to the order. As in my case, they forgot to add the tailgate lock I originally requested. All I had to do was talk to my contact at the dealership to rectify.

I didn’t really place an order. I just happened to be in the dealership when they got word in that they were getting one, and I put a deposit down to reserve it. My salesman says it’s build date is 3/24, and I asked him if he could get them to take off the graphic package. He said he’d let me know tomorrow morning what the regional rep says!

man, it would be nice to have a tailgate lock.... maybe I’ll ask him to throw that on!
