    Step 2: Keep your truck as light as possible. It’s lighter than a “light duty” truck. It’s not an F-250.

    If you have a "larger tire spare" thats best. Although the stocker spare can come in handy in a pinch. I drove back from TN on a stock spare on the front, and 255/85/16 on the rest.

    I have a (somewhat worn) 255/80R17 in my spare location. Took a little hammering as I recall but fits.

    Yes, even the stock spare is better than nothing. I sheared the head of a valve stem off on a trail and would have been screwed without a spare.
