Would You Sell Your 3rd Gen If A Solid Front Axle Was Offered?

    Mine had the same power issues. At 290k miles it had a bad rattle. I tore into it and replaced the front cover with the LC double row timing chain kit.
    Also did a bunch of Head work, such as porting, oversized SS valves and a Crane cam. After all that, I could take a mountain pass at 65 mph!

    Good times with that rig. Really the best times in that rig!

    Back then we could have stuck a 4-71 blower on it. There was plenty of room under the hood.

    Thousands of threads on guys having problems with the front 4x4 electric aculator's and 4x4 that wont engauge or wont come out of 4x4,straight axles and manual lock outs run forever with rarely a problem.
