Do you think the tops are going to get chewed up? They’re polyurethane shackle bushings and have metal sleeves on the inside. I could swap to all heim joints they actually turned out to be a lot easier to work with but they’re more expensive

Everything will get chewed up, i have this kit laying around the shop. It’s cheap and comes with a lower and upper tapered roller bearing set.

Anyone got recommendations on an automatic transmission shop near Lake Stevens. Seems like my 5th gear/OD may be shot as it just revs to 3000 after I get above about 50. Thanks in advanced!

Might just be a stuck shift solenoid as well.

Or a gunked up valve body...or low on fluid....or an issue with your torque converter

Shift solenoids are in the valve body and use ATF pressure

damn near thing bud more and more of a shit box for a 2010 lol.

that is what I am hoping but didn’t want to risk taking it over the pass. I will do some research on freeing those up. Gone for the weekend so will look Monday.

I am wondering if low on fluid too... wish it was easier to check on these but I guess I could always just top it off.

A lot of AT issues are caused by low fluid....easy place to start

You can drop the pan and replace the shift solenoid, Toyota sells those individually. I’ve had to replace one because the trans fell out of gear at stop lights. But before check for codes, there’s usually one stored in the ECU that points to the faulty solenoid IF indeed it is a shift solenoid issue but it usually is if the torque converter works in the other gears. Does it still lock up in 4th?

Okay I will look on my tech stream cable at home and see what happens. Thanks for the tips y’all hoping that one of those easier fixes ends up being the trick and not the whole tranny. Kind of doubt it though or I would assume more symptoms. Though I don’t know shit about transmissions really, or their related issues. Time to learn I suppose haha.
