Perfect. On those random warm days it'll come in. And then when the car warms up it'll smell of fish but then when he goes to look when it's cooled down it won't smell.

Ok, out of the blue I discover my Toytec coils have snapped/rusted through... paint seemed to be in good shape but guess not. I was hoping to dodge that bullet. I was going to call Marie at Wheelers and check on an OME coil, lifted 2.5” or so with a US Off-road number and 8k lb winch. Suggestions?

if I wasn’t a stickler of a supervisor, I’d be bringing it to my own home lol.
See my above review of them in winter

I mainly wanted the tracked version to be stable and support the larger unit. I also need to be able to run paths up and down our rail yard in between the rails themselves. The wheels would bounce and get stuck between the timbers. Thanks for the reminder, the store didn’t have any shear pins so I’ll have to order some

Get a bigger winch! You should have one that's rated at 2.5 times your vehicles weight, so that puts you at a 9.5k winch minimum.

Where’d you get that info? Warn industries suggests 1.5x’s your loaded weight.

Does your model have the adjustable height? I think my cousins can raise electronically if it hits an edge on something then you can keep going. Sounds like a feature that would be very helpful to you

*im not 100% sure how it works I haven’t used it

You're right! I just looked that up and they say 1.5 X's as a minimum. I'd still say go for a stronger winch as you never know what you might be pulling out of! Also the price difference between them is usually very small.

This, and you never know what you might be pulling out, you might be pulling out a 2500 from a swamp

We’ve got a decent amount up here and getting more overnight. I don’t fire up the Honda unless it’s over 5-6 inches though.

We've been getting snow all day - ground must be too warm we had zero accumulation!

Yeah - y'all get way more up there. I think this weekend is clear, but somewhat "cold" mid 30s, and then after that it's 40s as far as the weather predicts out, some rain here and there, so it looks like (not to curse it...) the coldest and roughest of the year is over. It's been a rough two weeks down here

It has an electric cutoff if something gets kicked into it as well as the shear pins.
This doesn't hasn't auto raise to my knowledge. the gas operated leveling is sweet thought.

I think they are realistically conservative because often think everything bigger is better. someone could buy a warn M15 winch to mount on their TJ. Throw a pulley block and back to the recovery point and that winch could probably damage the jeeps frame.

    What snow?
I drove it into a crusty, icy snow bank and it just ate away like a ninja blender on margarita night.

Maybe I was thinking about the leveling thing then. He was explaining but I was only paying Half attention!

Can't tell if it's a Taco or not. Almost looks like a T-100 or early Tundra.

So far it’s pulled itself up a mountain with a snowmobile trailer loaded with a unit of engineered wood siding, it’s pulled the tractor out of a 1/2 doz muck holes, and pulled a 350w/a plow out of a ditch (had to chain my truck to a guard rail). I’ve had to use a snatch block once. I think I’m ok with the 8k.
