I have a 2015, it has the factory plug under the console in the roof. What mirror will work with the factory plug?

I can get you set up with a mirror, but there are plenty of options...shoot me an email at info@bobsmirrors.com and let me know if you're wanting a mirror with/without Homelink, compass, compass/temp, etc. Also let me know if your truck's mirror plug has 2 or 3 wires in place. Thanks!

Anyone have step by step install directions? My 15' I had to take out the whole overhead console etc, is it the same with this?

If your 2021 is one that is NOT affected by the dead constant hot wire issue that affected most 2020's and early 2021's, it's plug & play - remove the mirror, unplug it, plug in the Homelink mirror, install it on the mount, program the Homelink buttons & calibrate the compass...maybe 10 minutes! If yours does have the dead constant hot wire issue, then in addition to the above, you'll need to remove the overhead console (it's held in with 4 clips - use a plastic automotive trim tool to pop it loose, very easy) as you'll have some excess wiring to deal with after plugging in the adapter harness that we have available for the trucks with the wire issue. Either way, it's a simple job!

Take a voltmeter and check for roughly 12 volts across the wire in the bottom row of the mirror connector (this is what is supposed to be the constant hot wire) and the wire immediately above and one space to the right (ground). If your voltmeter shows roughly 12 volts across these two wires with your vehicle's ignition off, then your truck's wiring is good. If you get nothing, then yours is one of the many that were built with this wire in place but dead thanks to whatever reasoning Toyota had when doing this on the trucks.

But no matter what I can get one of the mirrors with the blue backlit buttons and compass with Homelink? Don't have one of those tools at all

I would recommend you purchase the mirror and the adapter harness together. When you get the mirror, plug it in & press a Homelink button. If the indicator light turns red, you're good to go as-is and you can then return the adapter for a refund. Otherwise if nothing happens, then you'll need the adapter to make the Homelink buttons functional.

Just installed one of Bob’s homelink mirrors. Piece of cake! Unfortunately my 2020 did need the additional harness for the dead wire condition which Bob supplied as well. Mirror looks brand new and programmed easily. Highly recommend.

Just got mine and it installed easily. Took me longer to reattach the dash cam mount than to install, calibrate, and program the Homelink.

Just wanted to add to this thread that I have a 2021 that came with the auto dim/compass mirror only. I bought a homelink 4 mirror from Bob’s as I did not see the HL5 version when I browsed the store. Maybe I missed it. Doesn’t really matter as I don’t have an opener that is 5 compatible and won’t for a while. Anywho, I bought the adapter, but it turned out my battery wire was live on the 2021. However, I wanted the adapter anyways so that my garage door buttons are not active when the truck is not on. Just a nice little safety precaution do no one breaks into my truck and lets themselves in the garage.

not sure what determines if Toyota powers that wire or not, guess it’s random. Great mirror, I love having a universal opener.
