Need another 1" in the front...

So i have 5100 at the middle setting with OME coils and i need another 1" lift. You guys think i should do a top plate spacer or just raise the 5100's?

 

What OME coils are you running?
You are probably already at max lift.

 

Yeah I thought you weren't supposed to run the billy's at anything over 0.85" with aftermarket coils....

haha i have 881 coils right now. its defintaly ok to run 881 with the billys higher than 0" i defintaly researched and confirmed that.

 

I put the 881's on and only got .5" of lift so i bumped the 5100 up to middle setting and i am still looking for a little more, but i am concerned about ride quality which is why i was considering the top plat spacer.

 

Damn, surprising you only got 1/2", with that same setup I netted ~1.9" after settling. I think something maybe wrong. How did you confirm they were 881's? You bought and installed yourself? Just checking, as this doesn't sound like a correct measurement. If all checks out, I would call ARB or the vendor you purchased the coils from and explain your situation.

 

Sounds more like 880s. You should get .5" simply by putting new OEM springs on since the old ones from '97 would've sagged at least .5".
Everyone I've seen/read about are getting around 2" after settling with the 881s. So either yours arent 881s or something is screwed up.

 

get new springs maybe? oorrr, just a suggestion, go to stock spring and raise the billlys?

i went back and check my measurements again and i was actually able to get about 4 inches of total lift with the billys and OME coils which i confeermed as 881's. I used the wrong measurements to calculate my lift. everything is good and fine i will post pictures later

If the ome's and the billies at 1.75 gave you 4", I would at least drop the billy's back down to 0.85". That will get you just over 3" of total lift.

Do you have aftermarket UCA's? How's your alignment with the 4"?

 

there was no trouble aligning the truck with the 4" lift at all and the cv angles are great. if i drop the billys down to 0" and get a 1 inch top plate spacer i should have 3" of lift which is what i want. would that work? or do you think i should just leave it as is with the 881's and billys at the middle setting?

 

this makes no sense at all 4" and good cv angles? good alignment? do you have pics by any chance? and or the alignment sheet?

 

Somethings wronge..cv's can not be good with 4" lift...
