Where did you get those mounting brackets for the resi? Mine did not come with one like that.

Also, curious if anyone has issues with the resi hose during the cycling of the suspension during travel? It can’t really be mounted cause it’s on the bottom of the shock and needs to move up and down

@Crikeymike i think I got two sets of rear mounting brackets. I didn’t get brackets like that for the front so my resis had to be zip tied today.

The 221's you got don't come with the bolt-on resi brackets, they have a shorter hose and can't reach that position.

You use the universal brackets that came with it and bolt them into the inner fender liner, as shown here:

Anyone else experience the "topping out" weirdness that I am feeling with mine every time I go over a speed bump slowly?
It is definitely the front shocks topping out at full extension and I am not that happy with it to be honest. I have adjusted the rebound up front to try and slow it down as much as possible without adding so much rebound that the suspension packs and still no joy...

@Crikeymike Anything you can tell me about this brother? I am not sure how to address this.

How much lift height do you have? What's your hub to fender measurement up front?

Also, how much down travel is left in the suspension. Ideally there should be 2" of down travel left when measured at the wheel.

Mike, I measure 22-1/2" from center of hub to top of wheel arch (2018 TRDOR 4x4).

Not sure how I can measure how much down travel is left. If you can guide me through how to do that to get you a proper measurement, I will do it.

Thanks for the help sir !!!

Ok, not lifted too much. About 2.5" of lift.

To measure down travel, you use that stock hub to fender measurement, use a floor jack to lift up from a cross member or bumper to elevate the vehicle, and as soon as the tire comes off the ground, remeasure hub to fender, and subtract the original height. That's your down travel amount. Should be 2-3" based on where you are.

Sounds like it could just be settings/adjustments needed to your rebound and compression knobs to get it to come into a better motion. Follow the Hilux settings in this document attached, and also read through the other notes in the installation guide about troubleshooting

Thank you so much Mike, I will get the thing off the ground ASAP and post up those droop numbers.

I will dig through the attachments and see what I can come up with. I feel like I have the dampers pretty well sorted and I don't want to soften it up too much because I like the anti roll characteristics of having the compression just stiff enough, while maintaining compliance and comfort, and the rebound set so I get ONE bounce after heavy dips and then back to stable.... For me, rebound on the street is correct when there is zero porpoising over drainage ditch depressions/dips (at speed) etc. Beyond that for me, this suspension set up is the best money I've spent on this truck....no exceptions.

My MRR arrived and look great, thanks @Crikeymike. However, I was dumb and impatient and opted not to have them assembled first so now my question is basically, does the bottom coil plate (might be called the perch?) have to be oriented a certain way when assembling them? And I assume the outlet for the remote ideally faces inward on each side of the truck, correct?

Lastly, the washers for the rubber bushings for the top plate; which is the one under the plate vs on the top, they seem to have different diameters but I also see the bushings themselves are different sized, so basically just match them up? On that note I see the very top bushings (without the lip) that came with the plates compared to the ones came with the struts seem just slightly different, I guess it doesn't really matter which one I use? Thanks for your help, I'm excited to get everything together and installed.

Hi Mike, Could I please get your advice? I have read over this thread a couple of times and just had a set of MRRs installed on the front end of my '21 TRD OR. They are topping out very badly going over speed bumps 5-10kmph. My center of hub to fender measurement is ~24-1/2''. Is this something I should bring up with the installer?

I have the rebound knob tightened in all the way clockwise and have been playing with the high and low-speed knobs between 0 and max. No matter what configuration I try something feels off with the ride on forest service roads.

    Thank you

Try turning your rebound knob down

Thanks Esket. I could be wrong but my butt dyno says the more I back the rebound knob out the worse it gets.

Was wondering if I'm topping out as there is under 2'' of drop between ride height and wheel fully dropped when on a jack

I'm not sure I had the lift installed by a shop

From some searching, I think the 3rd gens sit around 21'' from hub center to fender but can't be sure
