Anyone have any recommendations for a contractor with MHIC in the Cecil County area? Looking to have emergency work done on our half bath, to turn it into an ADA accessible full bath, after a family member recently became wheelchair-bound.

What did you ultimately do with the roof basket? Put it on the wifes Subaru finally?

I always say if it has to be fast, and legal ( ) give Home Depot or Lowes a call. Their labor prices might surprise you.

Otherwise, there are DIY options if you have the basic skills and time.

Check this product out. Not only does this setup save you a ton of money overall, it makes things better for all involved.

If you go with a dedicated wheelchair accessible solution then that's all it will benefit and the cost can be astronomical. You'll also still need to get your loved one into the tub safely, and then back out. With a sliding transfer bench like the one above, you will have more room, and can safely stay on the outside of the tub where it's dry, and help them in and out of the chair. You'll also be able to get direction on the proper transfer techniques at any physical therapy center. I highly recommend this.

There is also a device called a Hoyer Lift. This is a great tool for transferring your loved one from the wheelchair to the tub, the toilet, the bed, and a regular chair. They are not cheap but would be invaluable for a multi-purpose tool to make your loved one and you comfortable, and more importantly, safe. The sling that you use to lift them can be machine washed too.

I hope you get this all worked out John. If I can offer any other suggestions or help let me know. My Mom has been in a wheelchair and paralysed on her left side since her stroke 12 years ago. She's in a nursing home but a lot of times I step up to do some of the things for her that make her comfortable when they're too busy to. Like changing her diaper, or clothes, or getting her in/out of bed.

    Nope Nope Nope!

I doubt it will get above freezing up there in the mountains.

I cleared the driveway yesterday and last night during the pups walk it started misting. Shit froze instantly. I slipped and hyperextended my knee (it's an old dirt bike torn ACL injury I never had fixed) and now the pain is excruciating. That's the second fall in a week now. Fuck this ice, I ordered a pair of these this morning.

Anyone want to go skiing ⛷ tomorrow evening up at Whitetail? @fatfurious2, myself and a few others are heading up. If anybody from the area wants to ride with me they’re more than welcome.

No worries here from me Rob, you know that brother.

Our “battery place” is called Battery One here. No Battery Warehouse anymore...but bascally the dame thing. Thats where I got my battery today, that works just fine, i just need a new tiedown because this battery is shorter than the 27F that i took out.

The “reverse thing” is just that group 34 batteries are opposite post from Group 27F. So a Group 34R is the same post orientation as a 27F. Make sense now?

Thanks, brother. Unfortunately there is no shower on the ground floor at this time so, even if we got the sliding bench, there is nowhere for her to slide to lol. Soooo we have to knock out a wall, turn the laundry room and half bath into a single room, and make it ADA accessible for who knows how long

A ratchet strap will work temporarily until you can get a pick & pull junk yard to get a real tie down. Will the one on my truck work for you? You can have it if so. I have a spare. Sort of.

Oh, I see, makes perfect sense now. I wish I could find a CCA comparison chart online but my Google Fu sucks right now. WTF is up with not being able to find that?

Anyone got a good driveshaft shop to recommend preferably in southern md? I put a dent in my driveshaft not to long before I left utah and haven’t gotten around to fixing it but the vibration is finally getting to me.

I don’t, sorry. Only place I know in the general area is A1 driveshaft up in Baltimore. They’re awesome though.

OMG! What's up with that sourpuss face? He's definitely not digging the fashion obviously. He's wanting a Prinsu, Tacoma Beast or Tacomaholic Tshirt instead! So adorable though. Impossible to not say AWWWWWWW!
