I just got a 1up and love it. Yeah I actually prefer it over tailgate pad.

    This and that...
Sad times in Texas. But crazy bike theft deterrent. Pulled this off the Texas thread.

It's the best bike accessory I've bought, the ease of removing bike and then placing it after a ride for the drive home can't be beat.

I had one of those, but my bug deflector made it bounce up and down like crazy and drove me nuts. Still was a cool idea though

Just sold my Elite Direto trainer today! Didn't use Zwift at all this year. I opted to get outside and ride outdoors all winter. 410 miles so far since Jan.1. Zwift is cool, but living in a small condo isn't ideal. Had to set it up and break it down each time. Got old real quick. I've honestly preferred getting outside too. Been inside enough w/ this covid BS.

IRT transporting bikes... I've tried most everything. Loved the look and stability of fork-mounted roof racks, but have driven under garages TWICE (yes, i'm an idiot) so that's out. I still have a couple of racks I can easily through on my factory roof bars if I need to travel with more bikes.

I have a 1-up, and agree it's the shit. My issue is I rarely bike by myself, and don't want to leave two racks on all the time, as I can't get the tailgate pad down without first lowering the rack. So like above, I keep that around If I need to use the truck bed for other stuff.

My favorite is the tailgate pad... I've tried 3, the Evoc, Yakima and lastly the Raceface (by far my favorite. So easy... hard to damage the bikes, etc. My issue is i have a tri fold Tonneau cover that I either have to take off when I use the pad, or prop up with the little struts so I can't see out my rear window. Also, I can't close the tonneau cover with the pad on.

I have a new 2021 coming, and think my next thing is the tailgate pad with a retrax retractable cover. I just need to measure and make sure the bike still fits with the space taken up by the cover receptacle. What's cool about that cover is that it locks anywhere in place, so I push it up to the tailgate pad and still have it locked. Not waterproof, but that's not a big deal for my usage.

    First world problems :bananadance:

Same deal with tri fold and tailgate pad. Raceface T2 is amazing. I ride often enough in winter I leave the cover off and tailgate pad on. When summer rolls around here it is too hot to ride since im not one to wake up at 4 am. Tonneau will go on then or I'll be roaddtripping a lot.

I was pretty close to going the retrax route but ended up not doing it for the reason you're worried about. In my SB I don't think there would even be close to enough room to fit any decent sized bike

Ended up with a roll up Tonneau under bed bars w/ a oneup. I park on the street though so don't have to worry about regularly pulling into the garage. That whataburger drive thru will get ya though...

Yeah... probably why I haven't measured yet. Retrax says it will take 14" of space, so it's going to be close. I ride a medium but would be a bugger if any friends with large frames suddenly couldnt' fit.

Ah... I miss Whataburger. Live in seattle but used to eat there when I visited Tucson many years ago.

Yeah.... I’d prefer outside but the truth is I hate the cold and try to avoid it. I spend some of my day outside at work anyway....

I bought the KIckr Snap this year and love it.

Well sure, but price wise the tailgate pad can’t be beat lol. No product works for everyone, but I’d vote that for price vs function a tailgate pad is probably the best bike hauling product.

Anyone ever have a bike rack behind a FWC swift? Thinking I will need a hitch extensor and swing out. I have a 1up rack for reference.

    not enough.
I know a few people have similar campers with 1-up setups. Usually have the swingouts to help getting in and out of the campers.
