A little something every chance we get.
Speaking of garage kept, I had to turn down the temp on the beer frig. Isn't cold enough anymore!

Got a bag of ice to get through the water being low, all three spigots flushed out great when uncovered, and all the vehicles got gassed. Tomorrow, we're supposed to have "full water service", but will probably need to boil the first day. The minor flow they have kept going gives me hope that it won't be bad to deal with for long. Oh, and a peek in the greenhouse showed me green and blooms mostly. :fingerscrossed:

oh, adding to my @SCOTT'S TACO LOCO list....

Remember to open the drains on the rain barrels, especially if they are new.
More firewood on hand - BBQ or otherwise.
Fireplace insert or improved screen so that it's a decent fireplace.

I know, but it looks good! Leftover lasagna tonight will be OK, but it won't be THAT! Have to see what I can thaw in the freezer for the grill this weekend!

And the fun begins was under my porch fixing busted fitting lucky I had a shutoff value before that fitting so it didn't flood the area

Let me introduce you guys to a Diesel Powered Furnace we use in our Tacoma Campers.

5kw or 17,000 btu. It still eats up a decent amount of battery if you're not using it enough to cycle, but it'll burn about a gallon of diesel a day (I prefer kerosene to reduce soot issues when the air/fuel mixture isn't right, because we camp from sea level to 12,000 feet in Colorado, plus it doesn't gel when it hits -15ºF).

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dunxPZMQXs

The other choice is one of those marine diesel heaters from Dickinson for boats.

Furnaces are going to be, for the most part, safer than running any propane or kerosene heater. Kerosene can smoke too if you get water in the fuel tank. The other issue besides carbon monoxide in your home is the amount moisture you get from burning them. It'll make your interior soggy.

Regarding generators, these are my two picks:

$157 Cheapest but loudest. 800w continuous.
$199 More expensive but quietest. 800w continuous.

I like these because they're lightweight and good for charging stuff, keeping the internet working, running the fridge, and a couple lights.

The Inverter one for $199, you can hook up several to give you more wattage when you need it, and then turn them off when you go to bed. You can modify the fuel cap to hook up to a marine fuel tank for extended runtime.

Oil change intervals are at 100 hours.
