+1 for A1 Drive shaft's in Baltimore. They make really good products. I have a handful of friends running custom built drive shafts from them.

I had a completely opposite experience with them a few years ago. They claimed that they could rebuild the CV joint on the 4runner rear drive shaft. After they had the driveshaft for a week, I go to pick it up only to find that they literally beat the shit out of it with a big ford wrench to get the CV apart. They broke off the center grease fitting and told me not to worry about it and got the u-joints out of phase with the center part, they dented the shaft tube where the CV cage is welded on and tried to deny it at first, then tell me that it shouldn't matter, they checked it on their balancer and it was fine.

They wouldn't do anything about the damage they caused, so I grabbed it and walked out with it, I wasn't paying for a damaged driveshaft and they sure as hell wasn't keeping it. I took it to Perry Hall powertrain near Whitemarsh off of RT 40, next to the ferd dealer. He took it apart and showed me how badly A1 destroyed the CV with the hammer. He spun it on his balancer and showed how bad it was out of balance. I ended up having to get another shaft from Crazy Rays and he used that along with my damaged shaft to make a good CV joint.

ive had all my driveshaft work done at fleet pride. When I lived in somd the fleet pride there would send it up to Frederick shop for a guy named Tom to do. They would do stuff that other shops wouldn’t even consider and never had a bad experience.

That’s one of the driveshafts they made for me 1410 one one side and a 1810 on the other with a slip yoke, for my project truck.

Lol Rob, my brother, I got this <3

The odyssey, interstate, and northstar AGMs that i looked at were all between 825cca and 925cca. That was a big selling point to me. The Deka Intimidator AGM that I ended up with, is only 750cca, but that is what the three lead acids that i have had before, have all been.

I appreciate it. I took a quick trip back to Vatozone (nil), then AAP (nil), and finally Napa where I gathered up new jhooks to make this dillio work. I have an aftermarket battery tie down on the way from Amazon, a nice shiny aluminum joint. But for now I have enough stuff to safely hold it down if I need to drive the truck.

On another note, the 4runner has been doing great. I took it on trip to Oakland MD last week to pick up some stuff from lowes that I had to order online because our lowes here didnt have it. When I got to Grantsville MD, I filled her up with 90 grade ETHANOL free, and she hummed along, all day in the snow storm, half and half in 4wd getting about 20mpg. I was shocked. For almost 239k and 21 years old, you just cant beat that. However, she did develop a split in the top radiator hose (junk aftermarket cheapo hose) and now I have a coolant leak that drips onto my accessory belts. So new hoses are going to have to go on when i do the timing belt and waterpump kit. For now I just make sure it doesnt get low on coolant, and listen to my belts squeal until it warms up enough that the leak evaporates. :anonymous:

In addition to that, a little update on me. I am in the process of starting a new job. Already had two interviews there, and they want me to come in and do one day of training with one of their senior drivers, I guess to see if I can hang. Then they want to interview me afterwards and see about giving me the job. I haven’t said much about it because its still in the works, but I know plenty of people on here have looked out for me for years and I appreciate that. Hopefully, i’ll have nice job with bennies that uses my degree by the end of this month :fingerscrossed: so stoked:)
