I miss having NVGs in the service. I'd love to have a nice white phos bino setup, but it's just not in the cards. The cost of a mount, j arm, laser/light alone is a few $K.

to many to list, check the build thread
Do you have random ammo cans that you need to label so you know what the heck is inside em? Well I have options for most cartridges

Each GITD label / patch comes with a sticky dot to apply to whatever surface you wish. These have hook fastener applied to the back so they will stick anywhere patches will.

It's shoots dirty and wears extractors out at a faster rate if you shoot it on a consistent basis. Other than that, it does go bang. I just got rid of a whole bunch, so I could buy it in brass.

Def collegiate level gear. I got a good deal on a green phos elbit -14 and already had a lot of the peripherals so I can deal, but those guys that drop 12k on 2300 FOM -31s are insane. Def still a healthy chunk of money.

Expensive, but definitely a game changer. You can now fight in the day AND the night, when those that are not equipped like you, can only fight during the day. Totally worth the money if you can afford it.

Would you not recommend shooting it out of a Sig 9mm?

Personally, brass is the only thing I shoot. Be good to your firearms and shoot brass!

I'm debating dropping a few $k on a thermal scope. To be able to see you and you not see me, is extremely advantageous. Life-saving even, in the right circumstances.

I don't go to walmart much, but if I have to, I always go check for ammo. Zero, zip, zilch, nada...

I gave up on Walmart for ammo once they stopped carrying “assault rifle” ammo a few years ago.

I don't see anything wrong with shooting steel cased ammo out of a quality handgun like a Sig, even if it is on EDC duty. I have a Beretta 92A1 and a S&W Shield that have both shot plenty of steel, brass, and re-manufactured ammo for practice on the range. I do load quality hollow points I've tested once off the range though.

There is slightly more wear on the extractor and you will have to clean your gun after the range (god forbid!), but I wouldn't not shoot steel case for any reason other than a the gun being a precision rifle or a race gun.

Lucky Gunner has a great post about accelerated barrel throat wear from thousands of rounds of .223 on an AR15, but a handgun doesn't see those types of pressures. So, I'm not sure that's apples to apples.

I put them in the same shame box as cheaperthandeertay. I'll spend my money elsewhere for ammo.

Back in the day of cheap ammo prices, all I shot was steel case Wolf out of my go-to ar. Killed many a pig with them, and even though I had no issues after thousands of rounds fired the cost savings negated any potential extractor replacement costs. Hell at that time you could save enough after a couple thousand rounds to buy a new barrel and bolt if you’re paranoid enough to do so. Now days, steel cased ammo is better than no ammo although the price gap has shrunk to minimal savings. IMO buy what you can find.
