Ahhh now the veil is lifted. Shitty.

Wise idea to play it smooth though, but remember it next time you're asked for something extra..

Eh, I think of it as creating artwork..

I do have a second snatch block just in case, I realized it was on the lighter side when I bought it. Open box sale in the bass pro sale room so that affected my choice.

IMO this guy fucked up, new 4runner pro is good and all, but that FJ was money and he obviously was big into it by the mods. I'd be asking for an FJ just like it, even though the 4runner pro is good, in the past 2-3 years its really turned. And by that I mean its the new "jeep" for soccer moms and soft dudes trying to be tough and trendy everywhere (THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLE WHO USE THEM RIGHT, SORRY IF YOU GET CAUGHT IN MY STEREOTYPES). I am 100% over the 4runner and excited for my wife to move on in the next year, even if that is in a redesigned 4runner.

If not the fj, I would have taken a heritage land cruiser in black please.

    This things a monster

I’ve never purchased, nor had much experience with snowblowers.
I premixed some fuel stabilizer abs plan on using non ethanol gas.
I soaked all the moving components like the cable springs, threaded adjusters, the cams, gears, and turntable for the discharge chute with fluid film.
I was told to drill, tap and add a grease fitting for the gearbox.
    anything else?

    ah crap yes I did.

okay let me recreate my morning ramblings.

Toyota doesn’t own cars on dealership lots. The dealers do, so Toyota can’t give away something on a dealership lot they don’t own. You get into tax and ethics laws for Toyota going and spending money to buy a used car for the guy, so really Toyota can only give him something they currently own which would be a brand new vehicle, and one coming off the line not yet allocated or owned by a dealer. I think that’s how most dealership stuff works I’m not a pro.

Then you get into off road capable vehicles, and not everyone wants a truck - people own SUVs for a reason, so he wants an suv. The rav4 and Highlander are unibody, the sequoia is freaking HUGE (I think they share a platform with the tundra?) in terms of off roading. Then they probably said you have X dollar limit. The 4Runner pro is about 45 grand maybe a bit more or less. Regardless that’s a decked out pro. The STARTING cost for the land cruiser is 85 grand so if he maxed out his allowance with the trd pro that’s only half way to the land cruiser. He may have even maxed it out before the one he got and has some of his own money in there.

plus ongoing taxes and sales taxes. He might have had to pay reg and sales tax but Toyota paid for the vehicle.

For example in east providence my vehicle tax is 37.10 (i think?) per 1k NADA clean value with a...5k exemption? So for all intents and purposes my Tacoma is 30k nada clean 5k off that, I’m paying 950 some odd bucks a year in vehicle taxes. AND 7% sales tax and the trade in value is not reduced for trucks - trucks pay sales tax on the full cost of the vehicle regardless of trade in. >:|

So if he had an allowance or taxes, 4Runner is probably the best he could do since Toyota could probably only give him something new.

Side note. I live on the east bay in Rhode Island. Warwick is on the opposite side and that’s where tf green airport is. It’s been very quiet for obvious reason.

just saw this fly overhead. Kind of cool to see the Celtics livery and also cool to see travel is starting to become a thing again. Just a weird thing that made me happy this morning. :notsure:

My snow blower is well over 20 years old and I don't do even half of that. Still run strong. I lube cables and change the oil, that's about it. I do also douche the thing in PBBlaster or HDMP every other storm so snow doesn't stick to it.

Yeah I just stick to the maintenance on the owner's manual. I do add fluid film to the chute and the auger at the beginning of the snow season and add once more if it was a heavy snow season.

When I was running a blower I used to hose down the auger blades, scoop, and chute with one of those Big Blast WD40 cans a couple of times a year. Silicone spray (or PAM, for an environmentally friendly option) will work too. Keeps the snow from sticking and plugging things up. Doesn't make big difference when it's light fluffy stuff, but it sure does help with that wet & heavy March or April snow.

I’m not in a huge rush (especially with the weather) but any of my fellow So. NH folk willing to help swap out my spark plugs? I’ve never done it before and am not trying to fuck up too badly. Pretty sure I’m still on my OE plugs with around 128k. My understanding is drivers side plugs are easy but the passenger can be a bitch.
