that's a good question, I was told the icon lift is pre loaded at 2.5 inch front and 2 in the back. Is that correct? And Is there a way for me to check how high it actually went up?

    thanks!

Measure from center of wheel hub to fender.
Measure center of wheel to fender. I’m sitting at 23.5 driver side

Barely hitting 21.5 inch on the driver side on mine. Good observation. What lift do you have on yours? Why is mine 2.5inch lower than yours?

when I picked it up it looked much higher so I didn’t think anything of it. I wish I would have measure before and after.

    what should I do now?

Also, Not sure if it matters but my rear is at 22.5. Should that be the same?

And these icons are adjustable in height on the front aren’t they?

Lol I'm 22.5 in the front with a 2.25 lift. I think every truck is different.

Think I found the culprit. I went to Toyota and measured stock trucks on the lot. Most were right at 21 inch. When I got home I inspected the passenger side and it’s obviously different. It measures at 22inch. Then the threads on the adjustable section are different on each side. See photo. The place that installed it didn’t check to see that it’s level and I feel foolish for not checking/asking.

I’m running 5100 with eibach spring on second notch, you also might want to trim some pieces.6872E681-D290-48D8-9D3A-36FB2D299DAC.jpg

I was hoping to not have to trim much for around town stuff. But I don’t mind cutting it for off roading

    thanks for your help!

for now I need to get this thing leveled out. It’s out an inch higher on the passenger side right now.

It's pretty typical for driver's side to be ¼"~ish higher than passenger on 2/3 Gen Tacomas. Battery, fuel tank and driver are all on that side and usually results in a slightly lower resulting height, especially with a full tank, so setting the driver's side a bit higher compensates. That said, it won't explain why so much lower. Does icon have suggested spring seat settings for various amounts of lift with those springs? If so, compare current settings to those.

It's probably meant to be like that due to "taco lean". The comment above says it all

Got OVTune on the truck yesterday and it really did solve the sluggishness issues I was having with my heavier tire/wheel combo. That was really the only complaint I had with moving from the 265 Falkens to the 275s. Perfect tire size for my modest lift (1.5 inch front, 1 inch rear). Hopefully in the future there will be more lighter weight options available in this size.

Nokian Rotiiva AT Plus is 44lbs in that size, vs 57+ for the falken. If you don't need the E load rating it's just wasted $ and excess weight/gas

I've had BFGs on a F150 4dr 4x4, an F250SDLB and my ToyotaTacoma, never had 1 issue. Best tires I've purchased, both new and used...and they perform GREAT in any type of weather. 20210201_180919.jpg 20210216_213731.jpg

Hello everyone, I am looking at getting a set of 275/70/17 wildpeaks & NV305 0 offset method's to go with my 2.5" ironman4x4 lift and I am just curious I don't see a lot of talk about power loss and MPG loss and I'm curious what is the real power loss going from 265/70/16 (stock tire) to these? I am a 2nd gen owner but I'm sure it's going to be relatively the same. I'm just curious if it feels super sluggish and slow or if it was just a small power loss and that was it. I really couldn't imagine re-gearing for this size at all but If it was a pretty bad power loss I would rather just go bigger size and re-gear. Thoughts?

You definitely don’t need to re-gear just depends what you’re trying to get out of it. I personally think the motor is fine and I don’t gas it around so I don’t notice it being sluggish at all. If I were to tow something heavy that would probably be a different story. You could just tune it and skip the re-gear.

I mean like I said I would never re-gear at this size but I just didn't know how much slower or sluggish it felt in comparison to which I think I may just go bigger and re-gear. How is highway driving? I wouldn't tow often and if I did it would be light. Tune it eh?

Highway driving is fine. You aren’t putting huge tires on it.

I mean it's quite a difference going from stock and I don't want to lose a ton of power.
