We already have collected about 5,000 unique data point on every registered voter in America. We know more about you than you, your significant other, and your parents ever knew. We have Every.Single.Bit of data...all the ones, all the zeros that you send and receive, your google searches, your location, your purchases, your Ebay sales and buys, your average bar bill, what you watch and stream. How much alcohol you buy, what you eat, Your medical history, including time spent in rehab ;-) The media access control address on your smart devices and computers, your passwords...MainWay allows us to monitor billions (with a B) cell phone calls...MARINA allows us to monitor ALL internet traffic ;-)

Oh, and we have analytic support from DeepMind and data from SIGINT

We are everywhere and have everything. Seriously.

    You might as well surrender.

I knew a gas panic was going to happen. I hope like hell that this one won't be as bad as the typical post hurricane panics.

Gas sauna. I want in on that action. Nothing cleanses and exfoliates like a good gas bath.

I get what you’re saying. If there’s an easy on/off switch for the data collection, 95% or more are going to flip it to off. Maybe 100%. Rightfully so.

And maybe you do use data/privacy protections for devices like your phone and personal computer to mitigate on that end. That was part of my point or question, do you do the same across the board for anything that’s connected to the big system, as far as looking for ways to maintain privacy?

At this point I’ve largely stopped worrying about those sorts of things because if I want to participate in most of the big financial society benefits, whether it’s having a mortgage, using a credit card, anything that requires data reporting, I pretty much have to give up a great deal of privacy expectation. A trade off that I’m eyes wide open to. Quite frankly I assume that corporations and/or the federal government have a wide variety of fairly detailed information available to them about what I do each day. I accept it.

Of course I’d probably turn off data collecting from my truck if I had a ‘21 and I could figure out how to do it. Like you said, why provide that information if you don’t need to.

Yeah I stay away from doing my daily banking at big corporate banks. In general Credit unions are better.
I'm sure they can still access anything they want to know there too.
A lot of this is why I stopped using social media, and Google search. I use Duck Go instead, I avoid Amazon. It's been nice to not see adds for crap in my browser and it's even slowed down marketing email some.
I don't really miss facebook and twitter they were big time wasters anyhow. Much better things to do than argue with the activists that troll those sites.

If you bought the vehicle new you signed a paper. Pretty sure nobody reads the paper and just signs where you are told. The paper you sign tells you there is data being stored and sent. If you did buy it new and did sign the paper, and you disable the system, and something bad should happen, I would not want to have that on me. Welcome to the new improved tech world we all live in. And it's only going to get worse. If you don't want tech following you then you should buy a 70s 4x4 all restored and get rid of your phone. Just starting this post on this forum has already added to your digital fingerprint.
