,308 is a very multiuseable caliber........
Assuming yours is a Gen 2, with all the upgrades.

Was recently a little disappointed in myself when I saw that if I had waited....

They produced it in................ 300 Win MAG.

Big factor was already having ammo in my stash, despite having sold my last .308 rifle years ago

300 win mag would be quite fun.....

Now to decide on some glass for it

Bipod. It's heavy but not too bad.
And yeah, I wish I'd have gone bigger on my glass.......

Realistically I would spend 1500, but didn't the first time.

Oh yasssss...:101010: Of course you would know lol. Your military equipment knowledge is impressive, but I don't even know if this one is super obscure, I just love the hell out of it. Matching serials all around with a matching mag. It's such a satisfying gun to shoot. The action is unlike anything else and since it's not a garbage caliber *cough* .303 *cough* ammo isn't impossible to find.

That's a pretty neat one to have in the collection

The bolt on that Mosin looks fresh off the mill.

I meant no offense. .303 filled a need at a critical time with the SMLE for almost a century. Is that a No4 MkI? I'd love to find another Ishapore and do an L42A1 bastardization, but you can't really find these for a reasonable price anymore.

We should have a go at friendly bench shooting competition out at Tuttle when the weather isn't being dumb.

There are a few things, yes
No offense taken, just giving you crap

Yeah, 1945 Longbranch No.IV Mk.I*. Of my surplus rifles it's my favorite to shoot. There's admittedly little rationale for my love of .303 other than smileage.

You can't find much for reasonable prices anymore. One shop I stopped in today had standard 91/30 Mosins marked for $425 each. Absolutely nuts.

A trip out to Tuttle would be fun, but I guarantee it wouldn't be much of a competition. My trigger time has plummeted since moving back from Wyoming. Saying I'm rusty is being generous...

I understand the love of "dead" cartridge type. I am told the same thing when I talk to by black-rifle friends about the AK platform and how amazing it is, especially chambered for 7.62x39. There's something harmonious about that round in that gun. I've always dreamed of a pistol AR in 7.62x39. Not because I think it would be a great gun, but because it would absolutely frustrate everybody.

I like what I like. Even if I know it's dumb. Sometimes I like things because they're dumb.

    This guy, he gets it

I still don't have an AK in the collection. Yugo SKS is currently serving as my processor of 7.65x39

As far as dumb things and frustrating people , you have no idea how badly I want to build one of these

Also regarding dead cartridges, do y'all have any idea how difficult it was to find .35 Remington before this panic started last year?

I don't know where to start. The longer I look at it, the more confused I get.

I'll keep an eye out for .35

    I'd guess .50 blackpowder that's "modernized"
