Uncomfortable as fuuuuuck. They’re just too firm and the bolstering was annoying.

I went to Discount Tire today to get my tires balanced with no luck. They couldn't tighten down the whatever it's called into the hub of the wheel with their standard piece. The searched around and found an adapter but even then, I guess it flopped around on the machine. It just means they were unable to even attempt to balance them because of the deep dish nature and the bead ring making it tight quarters.

They were really nice about it though, as I expected. Their customer service is killer. I have an appointment on Monday with another place, RNR, that deals with more custom wheels and will hopefully be able to make it happen. If not, I'll give balancing beads a go.

I think I saw that wheel every weekend guy on IG having good results with air soft pellets and antifreeze.

I’ve heard of people using airsoft BB’s as well, but also mixed results with balancing beads in general. That’s why I’m hoping for a normal balancing first

My custom slip on spacers from bora arrived. @Darkgoatracer

1/2” thick. 106mm inner hub. 108mm outer hub.

Studs are 1/2” longer to accommodate the added thickness.

These will go on the rear to help clear the shocks at full articulation.

Maybe some other Lairites can chime in.

I have an '02 OR with the rear e-locker, but it doesn't work. I think one of the previous owners took it off road and ran it into a mud bank or something because it's packed with dirt and some of the plastic is broken. Is there a way to get it back working again without buying another axle?

The light blinks and I've crawled under there and looked at it. I can see some gears that I think are supposed to be on the inside and a couple of plastic bits that have bits broken off.

It sounds like you may need a new actuator. It’s a little motor that turns the locker on and off and bolts onto the front side of the axle.

No, I don't hear any clicks or anything. I expect it's because it's still packed with dirt. I got the truck last fall and I just needed a vehicle to drive and didn't mess with it. I'm at the point now where I want to clean it out and fix it.

Ok. That seems like a good place to start. I didn't find much early with my Google searches. Do you know if there is any place that sells the actuators?

I don’t know if there are any aftermarket options available, so Toyota may be it. I would get under there, clean it off and see. Post up some pics too.

Deano, so blinking on dash means it is trying to engage (stay positive, it is trying). I would try this: get off pavement, put in 4low, stop, engage the locker, turn a decent amount left or right, and stick with the arching turn for 5-10 ft. If that don't work, then hopefully Randy is right about the actuater.

I'll do that and see what happens. Any tips on how to get all the dirt out without damaging it?
I'll clean it out first and try this.

I've never used a locker before, do I need to be in 4L to engage the locker? Or can I use it without being in 4WD?
