Nice ride!! I wish we had better access to riding trails here in PA.

I have a 2004 Kodiak 450 that I bought new and used that for plowing until I decided I was tired of sitting in the cold/wet and having to get off the ATV to reangle the blade all the time. It is still my back-up and will sometimes use it for clean-up when the sun comes out. It also gets a lot of warm weather use pulling a trailer of dirt/mulch/stone, etc.

Colonel, PA is chock full of State run groomed atv trails, some very technical, some not, a "tag" is $20.00 every 2 years, and well worth it..

A little something every chance we get.
Good Morning Porch People! Some good news from here in Central Texas anyway. We've had power the whole time (lucky us), and natural gas heat. The sunroom is a heat pump/mini-split tho, so that was a challenge. Water came back late last night, after 3 days of a trickle. We're still under boil notice, but the shower is again available. Been filling jugs from the pool, and boiling when needed in the interim. Yesterday actually went to get in line for a drive through bottled water distribution - I have never been in a line for something like that - it felt odd. Then pointed the truck towards a little egg farm at the edge of town, and got plenty for us and the neighbors.

Got brave and tried the WalMart for non-food stuff, which was easily gotten. All perishables were not only gone, the freezers and coolers were in the cleaning and sterilizing process. Both they and the HEB lost power and water somewhere along the line. Wife is being brave and going to the HEB now to see what can be gotten of our list - since it had an extra weeks worth - it will be a challenge for sure.

Dog in my lap waiting for his yard to completely return, the sun is out and already 37*. I'll be in shorts soon, and life will be good on the porch again!

if you havent trail ridden in awhile, take it easy, as you will use muscles in your legs, a little differently, than normal, and it will hurt for a day or so, but a good hurt for sure...

    Good morning all,

Wow what a Saturday reading to catch up. I filed our taxes both business and personal with my CPA at the beginning of the month, she then filed on the 12th, both state and fed are being processed as I write - confirmed by email. Having no income and paying monthly taxes we are getting most back as the business was a loss in 2020 - hence early retirement (for me anyway).

Got my first vaccine two weeks ago and they schedule the second before you leave so I am scheduled for March 10 for the second and scheduling NOTHING for two days just in case. It does seem to be a hit and miss kind of second reaction for everyone.

Going to get close to 40 today then snow tonight and dropping back down for a few days in temp. Going to torch dog poop today, like this better than bagging/chiseling it - flame on....

@roundrocktom, do you still have your FJ40? I have a 71 three on the tree FJ40. I will need to replace a few parts this spring due to dry rot on some of the rubber and gasket parts. I found Specter Off-Road in Cal has all OEM parts for all FJ's all models and years. Great resource if you still have it. Mine is still all stock - so far.

Had a turkey parade Thursday of over 100 turkeys all female, the Tom's came through later - punks pooped all over the place. Got a video of them walking up over the hill on my phone I should share.

Have a great day everyone, be safe and warm thoughts for those in Texas. I have friends in most areas of Texas, the Austin group are - or were having some real issues. A close friend lost one of his facilities due to water freezing and bursting in the sprinkler system the other facility only has some slight damage.

And a little more good news.
Greenhouse made it pretty well! Vents are mad at me - they should be open by now. I'll wait and see. There were several nights that went below freezing, and I tried to keep it a 45*-50*.

Everyone will be very happy for some water, since the last watering was last Friday!

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I got my 2nd Phizer two weeks ago this coming monday. I (as many report) had no side effects from the first shot. The 2nd shot gave me sore (upper) arm that seems to be hanging on. Actually its weird, but it did not seem sore till 4-5 days in from the 2nd dose. the soreness is odd in itself -I don't feel any soreness during the day, but in the evenings when I sit down and relax and a beer or two, thats when I notice it. It is still there but it seem to be getting less as time passes by. All in all, I would guess I am lucky if this is all the after effects I get.
It's crazy how this stuff effects everyone a little different. There is so much the medical profession does NOT know about the Covid. The pros, I feel, have not have time to determine cause and effect -- they have been using all their time "putting out the fire" with no time for the cause/effect process.
Early on there was talk of your blood type having some effect on how bad you got it, but lately I have not heard anymore on this theory?
To end this thought, I would rather have a few of these side effects any day, than to take the risk of getting infected with this SHIT

I have heard from different folks that the side effects from the second shot affects different people differently. Heard anything from teeth chattering chills to just sore arm where they got the shot and a whole gambit of things between. We got our first shot a week ago tomorrow and are scheduled for the second shot on the 7th of March. I'll see how affects the wife and I.
Have a good one folks. Be safe and as always be careful.

That greenhouse is awesome... Makes me wonder why I see so many that are unused and falling apart. I suppose it is easier for people to go buy their produce than take care of an expensive and productive investment.

Just got back from an air boat tour. Saw alligators and different species of birds. Several ospreys sitting in nests. Just an overall neat experience. I only got a few pictures with my phone but Deb got a quite a few with her camera. Bigger gators were not cooperating much(camera shy). She got a couple with her bigger lens.

    Afternoon all:
Welcome VanGo, yup, fill up the cooler and pull up a chair on the porch, just stay out of the big recliner with the reserved sign in the corner, the rocker with the sign "keep your butt off my rocker and your hands off my tools. and the pink rocker with all the soft cushions!

You must have had a premonition, looks like there was just a similar incident in CO, so far they are saying no injuries and that the plane landed safely.

Went on an Everglades airboat tour a couple years ago. It was awesome. Saw basically what you saw and learned a lot about the Everglades. I’d like to have an airboat but don’t know what I’d do with it.

Geese getting sucked into jet engines - happens every once in a while where I mostly fly from. I often fly out of Sacramento airport which is in the middle of Northern California and smack dab in the middle of the Pacific flyway. When geese are migrating October through January or so there are lots of them flying over the airport. Never had a goose strike but I’m always looking out the window. Have a neighbor who experienced one a couple years ago. She said she didn’t even know it happened until the captain announced It. Turned the plane around , landed and got them on another plane.
I have a friend who takes me flying. He has 2 planes one at Sacramento and one at another airport. Luckily every time we’ve flown out of the other airport.

Regarding the 2nd Covid shot I had people tell me the people who get the moderna vaccine get worse reactions than those who get Pfizer. Don’t know if that’s true.
We get out second Pfizer shot in 12 days. I guess we’ll see.

Our weather is pretty nice here in Northern California. Nice enough that I’m grilling a marinated tri tip in a little while and I just opened a very fine bottle of Zinfandel to let it “breathe”. The same friend who takes me flying is on the board of directors of a winery and keeps himself and me well supplied.

Kind of got carried away with this post. Hope all of you are well and safe and good fortune smiles upon you and the damn weather improves for you all.

No I didn't Mike, but I wanted to push my wife in and was told we weren't allowed to feed the alligators . Although I did keep an eye out for the monster from the Black Lagoono_O
