Morning folks, it’s Saturday, now the work begins, LOL. Met the well guy yesterday, yep you need a new pump. $2400 later , new pump and motor, néw bladder tank. Original pump and motor, house built in 72’, she finally gave up. Coffee time, then the snow removal, another 4”-6” overnight. Y’all be good today

    Morning...

    Cooooofffffeeeeeee!!

Wife decided we need the tile gone and hardwood floors... That's what I wanted when we built the house 16 years ago, but NOOOOO she had to have tile.. Guess what I've been doing for the last two weekends!! Yesterday was the first day of actual tile removal demo.... Christ!! 1000 SqFt of tile... Shit!! This is going to be a long rough weekend... There has got to be an easier way to get this shit up, that doesn't cost a million dollars.. And the dust!! OMG... Wish I could go work on a radial engine rebuild, it would be easier, and CLEANER!!

    He we go...

    Y'all be careful out there..

Check out a tool rental store. They have pneumatic chippers for removing tile. Could make it somewhat easier, still going to be a lot of work.

    Good morning all.

There’s a test to determine that...

Will you respond to: “Wench bring me some grog”?

Good morning TW. The games have started. Found my bursted pipe. About 4’ section. Hardly any supplies at HW store so had to settle for a 3/4” cap and cpvc cement I’ve never used before. Waited for about 5 hours for cement to set. Turn the water on and I hear that sound again. Friggn gushing water under the house. Shut the shiat down and I’m puzzled. The cement I used? No way. Crawl back under and see water but can’t find where. It wasn’t on the cap I installed. Turn water back on at a very low rate of flow. Crawl back under there and find the culprit. Hairline crack in an elbow right under hot water heater cold water intake. And this section is/was completely protected and wrapped in foam. I HOPE this is all that I find.

Off to the big city to find a big box store with the supplies I need. With extras just in case I have more problems.

Said it once already. My camping supplies and backup water saved my arse. The water for cooking and cleaning. Actually took my first shower last night!! I have water at the pump house. Hooked my camplux up to the spigot and commenced to getting clean with hot water.

Y’all have a great day and weekend ahead. And thanks for well wishes and putting up with my Texas drama. :D

Ugh, that’s beyond awful with what you folks have been dealing with down there. If you ever have to re-plumb it, consider PEX. It’ll expand and not burst if it freezes.

I read about that last night. I’d rather level this dang house and start over with a slab. It’s just me most of the time so I don’t need much.

I feel for you. Just about every project we ever do never goes as planned. Multiple trips to the hardware or big box store as we do the project is usually the norm. :( Best wishes in getting everything fixed as quickly and as painlessly as possible.

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

Sun is shining. Coffee is hot.
No big plans this weekend. The wife is going shopping tomorrow with a friend. Looks to be an all day event.

Good luck. Your Texas drama is a good wake up call for everyone. I've got 2 stepsons living in Austin and one is staying with a friend who had power. The other one and his girlfriend are getting by the best they can. They plan on moving to Iowa this year.

Has this ever happened to you.

what are you dealing with - tile on wood sub or tile on concrete?

o_O you trying to get banned Mister?

maybe check with any neighbors first, they might be in the same boat, you can bring parts and supplies back for them too

nope. can't say anything's ever been down the hole before. i have run into a couple of packrats and small rodents that get in the outhouse if someone leaves the door open...then if the door shuts while they're in there and they get trapped and they get pissed ... also came across one outhouse that had had a skunk inside fairly recent. the smell...OMG. Pretty sure they had to demo that one, no saving it. So I'm in the habit of cracking the door and taking a peek before fully committing to going inside to do my business.
