A Hawk might work. An Eagle would too.

I’ll sell you my Overland Explorer Vehicles Camp-M prototype. I’m probably purchasing the new one in May.

Is Overland Explorer a new brand? It looks like their stuff isn’t quite in production yet. I might be interested (if they’re cool with you selling a prototype), how much were you looking to get?

The Hawk is 4" wider than the Fleet and is an inch taller.

Just decided to upgrade the front rotors with Power Stop slotted rotors from Summit Racing:

Also upgrading the front pads with TRD pads and while at it installing stainless steel brake lines

Now if I could borrow some camper jacks in So Cal

Keep an eye on the Wander The West gear exchange. If one pops up have cash in hand and be running for your truck!

I'd like to figure out a good way to mount bikes and other items on the back of my Fleet 4WC. Something that can easily be moved out of the way from the door and maybe allow for other things, either in addition to or in lieu of the bikes, like storage boxes, extra fuel, etc. The Hitchswing from Wilco Offroad seems like a good option, though a bit expensive. I guess it's cheaper than an aftermarket rear bumper. I also don't need the rear tire mount but it looks like you can get it without. Appreciate any thoughts, experiences, alternatives, etc.

Is it practical/possible to use the 6' model in a 5' bed? Or is there just too much overhang out the back?

I think your center of gravity would be too far backwards and risk bending the frame and poor handling

i considered this since i had a short bed and liked the shorter wheelbase for offroading but realized the extra length hanging out the back pretty much defeated the benefits of having a shorter wheelbase. FWC told me it could be done though. I believe with a short bed they can't use the internal turnbuckles to secure the front end since the wheel wells extend all the way to the front of the bed, so they have to install this wonky-looking outrigger bar under the vehicle to anchor external tie-downs. I ended up selling mine and buying a used long bed for about the same $$.

Here’s some recent photos of my heavy ass truck. Progress on the camper interior has been slow. I have no motivation and I hate working in the cold.

is that a weboost antenna on the front bumper?
Have you had a chance to see if that is a good spot for it performance wise?

    It is, yeah.

To be honest -- and this is just speaking for myself -- it's completely useless and I need to take it off.

I did a variety of tests. Normal locations, bad locations, great locations (service-wise). Mounting the antenna all over the truck. Mount the receiver inside the cab in different spots. Etc.

I couldn't get the device to benefit my cell service at all. In fact, some of my tests showed worse results than without the booster. I spoke with their support team for a while but eventually got ghosted by them. I'm assuming they ran out of troubleshooting ideas I could try. It would've been great if this thing worked as intended.

 I already bought one assuming it was going to make a big difference, and was just trying to figure out where to mount it since with an access cab and a FWC fleet I can't realistically put it on the roof.

I assume you tried over the roof of the camper too? I've been wanting to have it truck mounted but will do camper mounted if it needs to be.

I try mounting it there too. You might have better luck with yours. Some people say they work well.

I've only heard good things about them on wander the west. I also have a couple friends who use them in remote areas with good results.

I have the cheaper model (only $300 instead of $500) that I have been using for the last six months while on the road full time.

the weboost antenna is the magnetic one on the hood.

We found that using it boosts the signal roughly one bar most of the time and we are using Verizon

For me still working 30 hours a week while full time on the road it was definitely worth it. Just my experience

We run them on our work trucks. In the event of 0 *usable* service to do anything they will, at best, help getting a txt message out. That’s it.

Check out marine turnbuckles that have ringydings. I use them on race sailboat and they are far superior

You can see in my ID photo I have a Fleet. got the shell and biggest mistake I made was not getting the propane system as I would really like to have the furnace on chilly mornings, but is virtually impossible to add later if you don't have the built-in propane system. Right now you cannot order just the propane, but must also get either furnace or stove or both. Some people are reporting problems with the Atwood furnace, but others not. I use my 2 burner Coleman propane stove.

My overall impression with FWC is the camper itself is extremely well built, but the appliances are all 3rd party and not top-of-the-line. It was pretty easy to install a $20 melamine board for a counter and a plastic sink which I have draining into a small Igloo water cooler that has a removable top. I did get the battery and I also built a storage cabinet on top of the battery box, which is just inside the door(and where the propane tanks would have been) and another cabinet on the opposite side. I got some Reliance 2.5 gallon water jugs with spigot and just set one on top of the cabinet so spigot is over the sink. Think I save a bunch of weight going this route. I have seen a number of full option Fleets that are way too heavy for a Tacoma, IMHO.
    cabinet and counter 2.jpg
Also glad I got E-rated tires to handle the weight and also for going offroad, which I do quite often. The camper has not had any issues handling some of the worst back roads in Death Valley. I also got two additional custom made leafs for the rear springs to handle the weight and it rides just right. It is on full time, otherwise I would go with air bags.
