What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

What is the reason you decided to go get the alignment? Was there an 'incident'? Or maybe unusual tire wear?

Also, under hard braking are you seeing any odd steering behavior? Like a small amount of darting or wander (either direction)?

 

Gotcha! Typically the alignment settings don't change unless there have been some ride height adjustments like changing the CO collar or if the LCA cam adjusters move from an impact. The settings can also change when the LCA bushings start to wear out.

I’ve got 33 by 12.5 tires on 15 by 10.5 wheels, and a 1.75 inch toytec lift with some bilstein 5100’s

 

So what the solution, in your opinion? OEM? Sonora?

took apart my drivers side tail light, again, brake/turn light either has a wiring short or bad contact. cleaned both sides with steel wool. this side has a big scratch on outside so I ordered these. Luckily I dont drive much anymore. My backup sensor power connection to the reverse light also needed fixing.

I like to paint mark my cams so that in an instance when they get knocked out it's easy enough to line back up with the paint mark. They generally don't move much but I have had to make some minor corrections.

 

I understand the cracks, that’s why I have two sets of LCA’s sitting in the garage, they just need bushings.

 

When I have to do it again, I will use Sonoran. I used Whitelines the first time.

For toe, worn TREs or steering rack is the usual cause.

I had assumed, apparently incorrectly, that when you initially said there was an issue on the passenger side, that you were referring to caster, not toe. Toe was out on both sides.

 

Why a new plenum?

A Small mod that fixes something that bugs me..
About twice a week my wife borrows my truck and because she’s short she moves the seat forward, then I spend 10 minutes while driving getting the seat back to where I like it, minor thing but it irritating. So I did this, I put a small plastic rivet rite in line with where I like the seat, simple and should have done it years ago...
