I just got my 21 Taco this past December. Here in Houston, the recent winter weather wreaked havoc. Our infrastructure and our houses simply aren't built for single digit temperatures and long stretches of sub-freezing temperatures. One of the times our power went out, we were without for 36 hours (others were out for longer).

I plugged an inverter into the power outlet and used it to power a heat strip wrapped around our main water supply line, which is on the outside of the house. We were also able to keep phones charged, and to turn on the heater to warm up. Yes, that could have happened with any car. And no, mine isn't a 4WD, so I couldn't drive very well on the ice. She's just a 2.7 2WD, but she saved our bacon.

Glad to know you and your family are ok! I totally get where you're coming from. Moments like these creates a bond between you and your truck and it makes you appreciate the purchase even more. I once had an experience where I was in my Tacoma and was able to get away from a tornado to make it safely to my friends house for shelter. Yea I could have used any other vehicle but my Taco go me there. Stay safe man! Hope things get better in TX!
