My friend’s ‘32 Roaster with 383 stroker sbc, 3 speed and halibrand quickchange roadster...scary fast. Ive seen this engine throw fan belts right off the pulleys up into the air on 3 occasions lol

Beautiful! Love the early '30s Fords! And glad to see it's not been chopped.

yup, it's a buick nailhead v8, clear on that. I've run one myself in a model a roadster i built in 2003. mine was a 322.
not sure if my friends is a 322 or 364, but im pretty sure it's a 364. it's def not the big block nailhead.

    they had em in 264, 322, 364, 401, and 425.

i wonder if its the same flat 6 they used in the ‘48 plymouth Cranbrooks?

i think theres some dual carb intakes for those old flat 6’s if you wanted to “hop it up” lol

Here’s one of only a few i have of my ‘28 ford model A rpu i built in ‘05.
This was when i got it on the road initially for Billetproof car show
It had at the time a ‘39 ford transmission, ‘40 ford banjo rearend, and mildly hopped up four A-banger. Tattersfield dual carb hi-rise intake with a pair of stromberg 81’s. A winfield mild cam, hi compression police mode head, and wico magneto. Thats my newlywed friends in the front and me in the bed at my friends shop where i built it.

Then i tore it completely apart and had an old bulgarian gentleman named Kirol Popov do all the body repairs

It was later painted Ford washington blue, and i drove it for 6 months, and sold it to A Bonneville salt flat racer up in Redding to get cash quick as i got custody of my 10 year old son.
The dash gauge panel is from a 50’s Mercruiser boat lol

i built that entire rpu for $6000.
It was 100% original sheet metal peiced together off ads from the Jalopy Journal and Fordbarn

long gone and parted out last i heard.
I dont have many digital photos of it. Most of em are on film that i took with my old canon A1 35mm camera. It was a dark time- i was deep in alcoholism and so it came and went like alot of things in my life then. 12.5 years sober now. Life is much different.... now i am in the process of gathering parts to build another roadster. This time it will be with me till i die. Planning on a 1929 roadster pickup on 32 rails. Nailhead v8, s10 5 spd transmission, open drive to 40 ford banjo with a quickchange rear center. Juice brakes etc. pretty traditional 50’s hotrod.
