Missing paint - 2017 sr5

Anyone had missing paint out of no where like this?

 

Common problem on white unfortunately . Try talking nice to the dealer and see if they will fix it and FYI there are multiple threads in here on it .

common on super white. oddly enough its very common for 2017 out of all years

I thought this was a picture of my truck. I have nearly the exact same pattern of missing paint in that exact spot.

 

Was not the best part of the day was walking past it!

 

Sure hope this doesn’t happen to my 2019 super white..I still don’t get why Toyota hasn’t fixed this problem

 

What's the real fix for this? I mean, if you go to the dealer and they do agree to fix it, what do they do? Just touch up paint-pen it so it peels off again a year later?

 

Not on mine.

 

If Toyota approves, a body shop will be authorized to respray the door or area. Which they will probably have to blend to color match

 

Happened to my wifes 2017 carolla. We went to the dealership ut was a month out of warranty. We filed a claim with Toyota and it took several phone calls , but they finally agreed to paint the affected area.

 

Just had my 2018 repaired for the exact same thing. Dealer took care of it under warranty, which I was out of by about 500 miles . I suspect if it happens on the other side I am on my own.
