What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Doing the same...once it gets warm (er) I already have the badging. Thumbs up to blacking out. Looks sooo much better imho.

the trd exhaust is not a tip replacement. here's a picture (not mine) that shows the difference between regular oem exhaust and trd exhaust, mine is a little different in that the tip is black and the muffler is bigger and flatter...

 

Had nice weather so I gave her a good wash today!

 

Installed a pair of Baja Designs S2 Pro ditch lights. Thanks to @HolyReptar for the quick shipping!

 

Why does it seem like your ditch lights are pointed straight ahead and slightly inwards?

Question for 3rd Genners. What the heck are these two screw holes for in the front of the bed?

 

Mainly because I just put them on and am waiting for darkness to adjust.

I just bought the TRD Performance Exhaust from the dealership yesterday. I also picked up a new exhaust gasket. Did you re-use your old gasket? Apparently the old exhaust gasket referenced in the installation guide

$16 90080-43033 Genuine Toyota Exhaust Pipe Center Gasket

90080-43033 has been superseded by the new gasket 90917-A6001. The old gasket seems much thicker than the new one I purchased.

Has anyone else ran into this dilemma with 90917-A6001?

 

TRD air accelerator

 

What's the point of installing the TRD exhaust? They look the same to me.

 

Forgive my ignorance, but is there any benefit to the TRD exhaust over the standard OEM exhaust, or is it simply for looks? With that said it does look good. Just curious though.

edit: So I decided to just google it and found this.

I can see the sound difference, but the torque and horsepower gains seem a bit hard to believe for me.
For almost $800... I will have needed to exhaust (pun intended) all other mod options or be in the market for a replacement before spending that much.
Looks very cool though.

i reused my gasket as i only have a little over 2500 miles on it. parts manager where i bought it from said only need to replace if you have a lot more miles on it, not sure how many that would be...
