Glad it worked out well for you. Sounds like the hard part is finding a dealership that knows about this kit lol.

Yea maybe silly if not true...if it is, could be a safety/damage issue. Not so silly.

Anyone know why the Miliwave sensor would need to be re-bought from the contents of the kit? I was looking around online and don't see a reason why you would need a new one unless I'm missing something. Loads of people on here even saying their system still works when they use an aftermarket suspension lift kit. It is listed as "must order additional parts" but, again, I might be mis-reading it.

Thats perfect I just want to be able to have a bit more room in the wheel well, so definitely can use all the feedback i can get. The reason i want this lift kit, is i want to be able to keep all my warranty and not have my TSS act up. The fact Toyota is finally trying to make some money on lifts is a good start. I called my dealer and another local one here in Central California and neither had any idea what a "TRD lift kit" was the only thing they referred me to the part numbers and all must be purchased. They had no idea if they would be able to install it on my 2019 OR.

That’s the issue at the moment. From what I’ve read hi Tacoma comes with a Milliwave meter already since I have an OEM factory mounted front camera. But would you still need to buy one if you did not have a front facing camera?

Yeah if you don't have the camera I think it includes some sort of cap cover, and sadly yes in order to get the grille a new sensor would have to be purchased

Toyota strategically placed certain items within certain parts of the kit so you could not order certain things separately thus making you have to buy the "Whole Kit" from them. Yes on the camera cover delete, its in the kit.

    Dealer installed lift kit :(
Our new OR DCLB was fitted with this lift kit when I first saw it at the dealership. It seems to work fine, so I don't know why or who was saying it wouldn't work on this truck They completely stuck it to us
on what they charged for it. That is my only bitch about it. We had been waiting for a truck like this for a looong time, so bought it.

Good looking truck, congrats. How much did the dealer charge for the kit/install?

On the dealer reference guide it mentions the kit is not for DCLB’s,

From reading the parts list and the install guide, the sensor should be swappable without having to buy a new one, but, if you don't have an OEM factory camera, why would you need one? I'm waiting for Monday to call and ask this question. It seems like to me if you do not have a factory camera you are needing to buy a Miliwave sensor, but why?

Reading through these comments - I wanted to share some information as it relates to Grill replacement. Last year I was in a front end collision that was nearly 20,000 in repairs on my 2020 TRD OR. I had the repair work done at the Toyota dealership. Long story short - I ended up having them install the TRD Pro grill (with a grill garnish purchased from Amazon).

While discussing the estimate, I asked if it was possible to upgrade the grill.

Directly from the email from the Toyota estimator.

"I also researched the TRD Pro grille replacement and I have great news. It is only the grille that is different, the sensor and all mounting is the same. The original grill for your truck is $733.42 and the TRD Pro grill is $217.55 which is the great news since the price difference can be credited back to you against your deductible. All calibrations and everything else will be completed and normal."

A day before pickup they realized that Toyota even makes in confusing for internal parties to get part information... They got the grill but the garnish didn't come with it.

In a follow up email, the estimator said, "Alright, so here I am standing corrected and confused again with Toyotas part pieces on this grill. We just got the insert piece and it did not come fully assembled, its missing the necessary radar cover which is a $417 part,"

The garnish itself is $417 - which is truly asinine but they worked with me and allowed me to get a $30 one off of Amazon.

The grill/garnish alone are 634.55 if bought separately (LOL)

That said, there is some confirmation (take it with a grain of salt) that the wave sensor and it's mounting hardware are the same regardless if you have a Pro or Regular grill when no lift is involved.

What I'm curious about is if there's a difference in mounting height between this mounting bracket/grill and the one they would install on a non-lifted Tacoma. My assumption is that if they are making a new bracket and grill mandatory, the bracket/opening are 1" lower to offset the lift height increase. It would be nice if someone could confirm that that the grill/bracket is in fact different in this kit.
