I’m thinking I might not buy a Prius for this reason; I know the batteries ain’t cheap to replace and are an environmental nightmare to dispose of. Driving the car, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance, and also found it comfortable, but I would definitely not buy that Prius if the batteries are original!

This seemingly basic 2010 Prius had not only the backup camera (which I’m pretty sure was still an option then), but also the JBL speakers and navigation! If I bought this car, that’s about $500-$700 I wouldn’t have to invest in bring the stereo to my specifications!

At ten years old, most likely had battery changed. I would just verify.

Electric motors scoot along quite nicely. Now you know what a diesel is like without turbo lag...

The saleswoman said the car $1,600 worth of work done after it was traded in; The car ran great as one would expect of even the highest mileage Toyotas...

NYC has cabs over 600K miles on these cars. They have been proven over and over. The first time I took a hybrid for a spin, it put a smile on my face.

At the same time, my friend offered me her 2012 Nissan Sentra with like 65K miles for $7,500; Car is loaded but unfortunately it’s automatic and I don’t trust those Nissan CVTs...

Yeah, but at almost 170K miles? The way I’d drive it, it’s easily surpass 250K before 2025, and I have no way of knowing if the battery pack has been replaced; The battery pack is the key thing to worry about on these cars...

My dad basically said that there is absolutely no point in paying to insure both the truck and a Prius, and that it would take years to earn back my savings at the pump...

I still have a newfound respect for the Prius after driving that one though!

I tried to give Edible Arrangements another change (and this particular order was going like two miles from the store), but it’s just too much of a pain in the ass; My issue is that items from Edible Arrangements tend to be gifts, and “customer” is a gift recipient who has no idea they’re getting it. At best, you end up with a customer who’s not home like I did today; At worst, you end up with a suspicious customer who thinks you are stealing the package you are actually delivery, like the guy whose house I dropped the Walmart order off at...

So, Edible Arrangements actually expected me to bring back the package with the promise of being compensated, but there was no option on the app to initiate a return; It never went above 35 degrees today, so I left the package in the shade of a large potted plant.

I said it before when I made my first Edible Arrangements delivery last winter (prior to COVID); Edible Arrangements has a fleet of minivans with refrigerated cargo areas specifically designed to carry multiple items, driven by employees of the company; If the customer isn’t home, the van can bring back the item and it can be kept cool until they return.

Expecting a independent contractor in a pickup truck, who signed up to deliver restaurant orders, is just stupid.

I also happened to notice that on the front door of this particular Edible Arrangements location, there was a sign out front saying that they needed temporary drivers; What this translates to is that there’s a shortage of people willing to drive a van for this company for some reason, and they’ve subcontracted with DoorDash to meet demand.

So, no more Edible Arrangements deliveries; FOR REAL THIS TIME! :luvya:
