I bought my old 2wd 07 back in TX, and thought the same thing. Then I moved to CO, and regretted it. Got stuck on my neighborhood surface streets once because of a large amount of wet heavy spring snow. Finally upgraded to a 17 4x4 a few months ago, and have thoroughly enjoyed the extra winter traction.

Put a Warfab skid plate on

Immediately went out and tested it out. Also snapped a winch line and yanked the heck out of the bumpers to get unstuck

Had a $300 gift card for Amazon, so I did a thing, Diode Dynamics SS3 LED fog lights in the amber color. Really changes the front end look. Now just have to wait for night time to see how they look!

I have one and love it. I don't use it too often but it's great in the winter cold / summer heat.

Is your truck lifted? I'm debating a modest lift <2" just to get some extras rubber on the wheels. Wondering how it affects your towing. I have a trailer that has specs pretty close to yours.

Yes, aftermarket: Start-X remote start. Watch the install video from youtube and it's a simple 10-min install - so easy anybody can do it. I recommend it if you're in the market for one. I only use it once every couple weeks or so but when I do, it's great.

Lol me to. Loved my softopper until I got my decked system. Softopper didn’t fold down all the way because the decked was in the way. So I ordered a new shell. Just never thought it would take 16 weeks to get it.

Thanks. I have been considering that Brand. Did you have to cut the TPMS wires as per some other posts I have read?

Truck has a 3/2 lift and is running 33’s. Yesterday was my first time towing with the Tacoma but it did fine on the 45 mile trip home. It was a little twitchy but I think with some hitch adjustments and playing with tire pressure I can get it sorted out.
