Offset on the Jeep was very scary, but I saw nothing wrong with the T-bone simulation...

Did you find the side impact/T-bone for the Taco?

You would have use for a vehicle with the top and doors off in South TX more than I would here in PA. Might be worth your investment.

My aunt had a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, a 2WD model; It was originally owned by a Japanese consulate in Florida. The second owner bought it from the consulate for his daughter, but she wanted a 4x4 (can you really blame her?); My uncle bought it in cash from the second owner in either 2006 or 2007 with ridiculously low miles and added his personal touch (color-matching the wheels to the body, new stereo, etc). My uncle decided he liked the Honda Element better, bought one, and sold the Jeep to his twin sister. My aunt owned it from 2008 or 2009 until she killed it in the summer of 2018. My aunt has a habit of not caring for her vehicles, and the 4.0L inline-6 had less than 90K miles on it; Cause of death? Coolant started mixing with oil, and my aunt continued to drive it while looking for a new vehicle; It eventually died altogether and she bought a 2008 Honda CRV in November 2018.

Correct, such as a Toyota dealer, and you should buy non FCA vehicles, such as a Tundra or Tacoma.

All the usual diesel truck mods- fuel system upgrade, programmer, CAI, intake manifold, 60MM stealth turbo
My wife and I actually have jeeps in our fleet of many. She has a 20 JLU that she absolutely loves. It actually drives quite nice and is pretty comfortable. Only complaint so far is that it does wander but I put on a Fox TS steering stabilizer and that made it 90% better. I also have a 1993 wrangler yj that was gifted to me by a family member. The 4.0 engine runs great but it rides and handles pretty poorly. To me that just adds to its character. The funny part is my wife hates the looks of the gladiator even though the front half of her car is exactly the same. I’m on the fence but if I did get one it would only be a rubicon or a Mojave.
For those who mentioned death wobble
It’s really a thing of the past except when someone tries to lift their vehicle like 5” while retaining the “short” control arms. Chrysler had a “Y” style steering that was designed to eliminate bump steer but as soon as the steering had some wear then the front tires would start competing for who was going straight. I had this on my 2nd gen Ram 2500 but I upgraded it to the factory 08-13 steering. lastly, OP get what you want. It might end up being a mistake or it might be the best choice you’ve ever made. You’ll just never know unless you try it. To me we’re all truck/suv people and no matter what brand you drive it’s better than if you bought a Prius just because it’s a Toyota. I feel the same way about motorcycles- doesn’t matter what brand- Japanese or Harley.

My opinion, if its your DD and you want to keep longer than 50K I'd pass. If its a 2nd vehicle or you buy new every 5 years go for it.
Couldn't of said it better myself.

I saw a red Gladiator in the supermarket parking lot today, with a tonneau cover. It looked fine. It is just very square and boxy, not angular. It looks more at home on a battlefield or weather station in the Artic than on the street.
