I would concur. I'm on 4/3 and ended up needing a 1in block in the rear because I was about 3/4in high in the front. I ended up getting a little more lift than what is described in the 6112 product materials.

Do you happen to have any photos of the truck before you added the 1 inch block in the rear?

It's really hard to see in pictures but I'm satisfied with adding the block. This picture was before the block.

Ok, shoot I might just do a one inch block in the back. What kit did you go with for the 1 inch block in the rear?

I used the Maxtrac kit sold by Headstrong Off-road. You could just go with the 4/3 setting and see where your springs settle and add the block later if you need it. I drove 2,000-3,000 mi before I added the block to see if the springs would settle more. They also have a 1/2in shim that would do the same thing if you don't need a full inch.

How do you like the ride compared to the stock OR suspension? I have 6112s set at 3/4 sitting in my garage I need to get installed. Also have a 1.5” 3 leaf AAL. Can’t decide if I want to bump them up to 4/5. Happen to have any side profile shots of your truck as it sits now? Don’t see a lot of people here in running at 4/5, most seem to be maxing them out.

100% worth the upgrade over factory OR suspension. My offroading is mostly limited to beach driving. I found the factory suspension to be too soft and bouncy. I'd nearly have to come to a complete stop at times to avoid bottoming out going over some deep wash board at minimal speed. With the 6112s there's initial downward travel but they recover nicely and there's no more "pogo stick" effect.

If I had to guess, your AAL may provide more lift than you may want if you stay at 4/3. I did get more than the advertised amount but adding another .5in would definitely give me a more pronounced rake. Is you get the advertised amount of lift that might be too much. This picture is after the block.

Ok guys I got some questions, I’ve been looking into this option but would like some feed back. 6112 650lb spring, 5160 with Dakar’s medium duty. I normally spend about 40-60 days in the field a year hunting and guiding. Mostly in the desert lots of wash board roads, rocky roads and washes sometimes your doing 60mph down a slow crawl. Would this be a solid setup? I normally carry about 100-300 lbs of gear. I’m not looking for any crazy lift maybe 2 inches. I do have a demello steel bumper and winch as well as sliders I plan to put on a soon as I get suspension

I’m assuming the 6112s have been designed with 4x4 specs in mind. Has anyone installed these on a 2x4 double cab short bed and encountered any issues or suprises? Is the On road ride quality better than the 5100? Looks like the max ride height would be 1.75” which would be perfect.

I've had my 6112's & 5160's with a set of Wheeler's 3 leaf 1.5" progressive add a leaf for over a month now. I have them set a 5/4 and happy with the result and the overall ride is amazing. I ran the 5100's with the OME 887's for the first 2 years of owning my Tacoma and decided to update my suspension after 30,000 miles. I'm very happy with my decision to stick with Bilstein:thumbsup:

Perfect man, thanks for posting that. I believe I’m going to bump up to the 4/5 settings. You running aftermarket UCAs? CMC to get that wheel/tire combo to fit I assume? I know I am going to want to move up to a 285 after I install these and my wheels have a -10 offset.

Your going to topping out right and left. Enjoy the bang every time you hit a bump, drop, or dip in the road. Go to 5/4 with no spacer now or later after you realize it too much for your truck. Same story repeats all the time.
