Reading the instructions for the update coming, I have a few questions about the user name and password.

    1. Will we have to re-enter that for this new update? Previous updates haven’t required it.

    2. If we forgot our UN/PW, and it is required for this update, is there a way to recover or reset it?

I may have not been as diligent with saving that info as I should have.:anonymous:

Also, has the process been defined for keeping access to other trucks we have tuned? I may have missed it in these threads and on the vF forum. I see how I can unlock VIN’s in the new instructions, how do we get previous VIN’s grandfathered in without paying to access them in the new software?

    1. Re enter what exactly?
    2. Please email us for assistance with your registration info
    3. If you have tuned multiple trucks, please email us with the required info:
    Master key email
    Amount of VINs to register
Year of the truck(s) that need registered.

Note, if you have been tuning a bunch of trucks, and have not locked any of the appropriate credits for said ECUs in vf tuner you will not be credited for the VINs.

Example: if you have been flashing a bunch of 2020 trucks but never unlocked any 2020 ecus, you won't get VIN credits.

@OVTune , I see the new software version link is up on the vf tune site. can we use a "new" (non registered) computer/laptop, or are we still governed by the original unit we used to register ov tune/vf tune? Ski

@OVTune , I have installed 1.2.9.5 and registered my VIN using “Credit VIN... on the drop down file menu.

Do I still need to do the
“Prepare ECU” step on the flash tool or can i go directly to “Select Calibration File” and proceed to flash the calibration that is already listed in the “License Information” box? Does “Prepare ECU” need an internet connection? Tks

I opened the new version on a "new" laptop and registered my VIN on it. Now I'm getting a TOpenPort error [error loading op20pt32.dll] error and I am not able to credit my VIN on the old one.

You must prepare the ECU for flashing.

I tried to “Calibrate ECM” and I got an error message. Said something along the lines of “Error reading 13-Bit could not read message” don’t remember exactly but I didn’t want to try again and mess something up.

I can try it again to get the specific error message.

I was able to do the first 2 steps but not the last one. But in the window all
Steps said “passed”. I haven’t tried flashing the old way but I’m guessing it will still work.

I also noticed it saved my tune i opened up as a .vfc file instead of .vft

    Verify truck is on
    Battery voltage good
And you're selecting the correct calibration file

    What ECU ID?

If anyone does get any errors please submit it to zendesk with as much info as possible.

truck was on like normal flash
    Battery was 12.2
    ECU is 04A61

I did try to use the .vfc file that it saved my tune I’ve been running to. Should I try the .vft or .vfc file?

    I'm willing to bet
    1. Wrong username or password for your master key when trying to register
    2. Didn't install tactrix drivers.

i did try it with a VFT file and got the error. i just realized that if i make a new file it saves as a VFC file

that may be where my issue came from. I have not tried any VFC files yet, as i havent made any.

    Flasher can accept both.
I'm looking into this right now.

Crazy I tested all 3 of my trucks on it.
