I have a hard time believing that this new pro style grille that comes with this kit is any different from the current 2018+ pro grille with tss cut out and camera hole. We already have someone is this thread that bought this kit, used their existing sensor, and had no issues.

Could be wrong but isn’t the current pro lifted slightly higher than the other trim levels? I would assume that lifting an OR or SR5 with this lift would put it pretty much right at the height of a pro, no? Therefore the grille on the 2018+ pro and this new grille would likely have the same sensor angle.

    All the above is speculation.

I'm thinking the same thing, as well as all the videos of people online saying the "calibration" is mostly thin washers mounted on the sensor to fix it. I'm sure it will take someone perhaps on reddit, a tech, to put this to bed and determine if this is all nonsense or not.

The only difference in grilles is the pro has vrey letters and the new grill had matte black letters

The letters are actually a snap on piece - so the grill itself is still the same. The only two varieties that I can confirm are with and without the camera hole

So who’s going to be the first guinea pig to install this TRD lift on their rig and report back?

There has already been several people who installed the lift at a dealer and others who have done the labor themselves.

I called my dealership yesterday and they said they would sell me whatever pieces I wanted. I do plan on getting the pro grill but don’t know whether I need to buy the milliwave or not though since I have MTM mode on my 2020 off-road. Anyone know the answer?

That is what I'm interested in, mind sharing which dealer area since the one here in GA won't? The sensor looks to be the same as the one most have I think. I'm trying to find out the same issue currently because I want to do that. It looks like you would need the grill, camera bracket, and the grill garnish. Someone correct me if I'm missing something.

Here's the link to the wonky Multi-Terrain View after installing a Pro Grille into an OR truck. This is suboptimal and it definitely makes me want to just do the suspension and leave my OR grille in place. It'll save me some $$ for sure on both parts and install.

The guy in the post says it's not bad but I think it looks like hot garbage. The 360° camera already is pretty crap as far as resolution goes and that just looks even worse.

I learned that the hard way after I bought the truck and took it off-roading. I just use it as a guide and not to rely on it mostly. If I would have driven it offroad before I bought it I would have not gotten that option.

Yeah, for us in Canada it comes as part of the "Premium" option for the OR which includes BSM/Rear-traffic alert, leather and sunroof. The camera was nice when I first got the truck since I was driving something a lot smaller before, but now it's just sort of meh. I like it when I'm in tight parkades/lots, but that's about it.

We have VERY limited options when it comes to Tacomas and can't get LED headlights or JBL audio in anything but a Pro or Limited.

Is this fixed with the pro grill and factory bracket that comes with the kit? I can’t imagine that they would sell a kit that would ruin the mtm feature. Coming from the Subaru world I have seen a lot dumber decisions made though...

That's what I'm hoping to find out. The press release for this kit was Feb 17, so I think installs will start ramping up in the coming months and hopefully someone on the forum with the 360° camera does the install. The install/spec sheet explicitly mentions 2020+ with the camera, so you'd THINK it would be a seamless camera view.

Or, you know, I could actually read the install/spec sheet thoroughly.

    Step 36:

    36. Calibrate Camera. (a) Using a Techstream device and specified SSTs, perform the following procedures, referencing the vehicle repair manual on TIS for latest information.

HINT: These procedures can be found under the heading below: Engine/Hybrid Drive System  Cruise Control  Front Camera  Adjustment

Calibration: (1) Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory.

    * NOTE: *All parameters input during this procedure should be taken from the latest repair manual, EXCEPT the following two substitute values.

Input Window #1 (Fig. 36-1) “Recognition Camera Height” Value: 1587mm (62.48 in.) Input Window #2 (Fig. 36-2) “Recognition Camera Pitch Angle” Value: -5.31 deg
