indeed, you wouldn't ever have to worry about breaking a rear diff or axle shaft with that axle on a tacoma!

The East coast gear supply option is a good one. Also you can order a diamond 9.5” with FJ cruiser ends and have bolt on disc brakes.
For those asking why retain ABS sensors it is more about the overall functionality of the rig. Unless this is a trailer queen I highly recommend having the ABS sensors for the sanity of your transmission, your odometer ever working again, anti lock brakes in the rain is kind of cool to have if anytime besides you drives the truck.

I had an FJ80 axle with a 9.5” under my truck for a year and it never shifted properly, the odometer and speedometer did not work which meant no cruise and that the truck had no clue how fast it was going which meant it couldn’t tell the tenant when to shift and so on. It would shift hard and sometimes felt like it would hang in 3rd.
Bottom line is that the truck needs those ABS sensors for the Canbus system to do all of the modern things we like it to do.
I went with a Currie Dana 60 with FJ cruiser ends and ordered a blank axle from them at 70” wide.

bolted up 4Runner disc brakes and welded on leaf spring perches. It’s heaven now compared to before and I have a working speedometer.

Currie no longer offered their bolt in option. Talked to Jon Hensen last week. They have discontinued that line due to availability of housing ends and the fact that they can’t keep their lead times reasonable.
