1 seems to better protect it and act like a handle but may be a pain to load a new tank that way

I had drawn it up originally as 2, but was thinking the same about 1. Either way offers plenty of space for the regulator and gas line, unlike the HF cart I had.

You could just put a couple small welds/fat tacks that are easily able to be cut out and try it as 1 and see how you like it.

I like #2. That smaller tank will be no trouble fitting in the slot.

It makes a great handle like said above. I few hooks or a small shelf under the handle would be handy for small items as well.

Tig filler rod storage tube I saw on another forum. I already had the pvc laying around from another project.

Upgraded the ground clamp on both machines today.

Just swapped out the clamp itself on the tig. But made a whole new ground setup for the mig. Went from 6 gauge wire to 2 gauge.

    After

Mig ground stock one on the right new one on the left.

Did you find your mig ground clamp getting hot and the heat shrink smoking sometimes? You have the Vulcan, right?

I didnt notice it but I've heard of people having issues with the same style clamps so I upgraded them. The vulcan had the same clamp as my lincoln.

Yeah, I’ll probably upgrade too. If I’m welding something thicker, like quarter inch, and I’m doing a lot of welding, the clamp will get really hot and start smoking a little bit.

I see it as good security. I upgraded the ground clamp on my everlast machine too.

Those clamps are nice, just not for me.

Often I need to quickly attach the ground for a quick weld, I just hang one of the clamp legs to what I'm welding. I know, it's not legit, but often I don't have access to clamp, but I can hook the clamp. Welding axle tubes together is an example. That spring would get in the way.

I do know I have no use for those magnetic grounds. I tried one years ago. I had problems with contact carboning up. I'd get intermittent ground contact.

Regardless, those are pro duty clamps and will last you a lifetime.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Does nobody like the grounding magnets? I love those things. Easy to turn on and off, rated to 200amps and easy to attach anywhere even tubing.

I only have experience trying my buddies setup with one and I hated it. I felt like it wasn’t getting a good ground and I like the flexibility of a regular ol clamp. Like holding whatever small item I’m tacking on, like a nut onto a stripped bolt. Or if it’s an odd shaped piece, hold the ground clamp to whatever with one hand while I tack with the other.

Makes sense. I just clamp it to my table most of the time.

    Bunch of stuff
Started on a dual Jerry can holder that will replace the single one I built on my swing out

All the pieces in the picture are just leaning up against one another for a quick mock up but I think it’s gonna turn out cool. Gotta come up with some sort of locking hinging piece to lock the cans in and prevent anyone from stealing the caps
