There is a Burger King on York Road in Warminster that I’d never been to (at least prior to the renovation); These pictures on the wall outside the men’s restroom chronicle the renovation done in 2019...

About the nicest BK I’ve ever been in, and the public restroom is actually still open to the public!

So, I got went to pick up a McDonald’s order and had to to cancel it because it was a breakfast order and McDonald’s doesn’t serve breakfast after 10:30am...

As I walking back out to the truck, I got a request to pick up groceries at Walmart, which I promptly declined; Three more orders came in from what I’m pretty sure was the same Walmart... o_O

Get a clue, DoorDash; I refuse to do Walmart orders anymore, since that guy in Doylestown thought I was porch pirate stealing the very package I was delivering!

Currently on pause waiting for the Walmart orders to be exhausted...

Presently doing Uber Eats; I have to say that I think Uber Eats is still much more annoying to use than DoorDash. DoorDash operates almost entirely on the honor system; Uber Eats requires you to put your mask on and take a selfie of yourself in order to go online. This in itself I agree with; However, Uber randomly requires drivers to do a facial recognition photo to confirm it’s actually then. I tried to do this wearing my mask, and it wouldn’t let me; The second time, it wouldn’t confirm my identity because I had my sunglasses on...

    :annoyed:

I had to take off my sunglasses and only then did it confirm my identity.

Uber uses the same practices for vetting food delivery drivers as it does for rideshare drivers, which is pretty pointless if you ask me. I’ve got two minor traffic offenses and no arrests to my name, and I’ve never lost my driver’s license, so I’ve got nothing to hide; Regardless, Uber still runs a background check on me every year!

I was able to get a concealed carry license in under an hour, and that’s valid for five years, so Uber shouldn’t need to be running a background check on me in order to deliver food in my own vehicle EVERY YEAR!

I decided to log onto both the DoorDash and Uber Eats apps simultaneously, and in a matter of minutes I got one from the Chickie’s and Pete’s on 611 in Warrington; It was for almost $14 and it was going to Ambler...

    NOT BAD!

However, I ended up cancelling it because the restaurant was swamped and they were still working on the order; Once you end up having to wait more than ten minutes for an order, it starts to lose profitability, at least in my opinion.

I started talking with the hostess at Chickie’s, and learned something I did not know!

Unlike DoorDash, which allows merchants to send out a request for a dash when the food is ready or almost ready, Uber will not let merchants do this; In turn, these results in the nearest driver showing up as much as 20 minutes before the order is ready!

The hostess also told me that particular Chickie’s gets far more orders through DoorDash than through Uber Eats; One thing I’ve noticed is that Uber Eats seems to be far more popular in the city than it is in the suburbs. Needless to say, I think I’m done with Uber Eats!

Made a pickup at the new KungFu Tea in Doylestown today; Never heard of them before (99% sure it’s a franchise), but after seeing the menu I wanna go back!

99.9% of the time, I do not accept orders with base pay under $5, but I picked up an order last week with a base payout of exactly $5, and it went to the employee of a pizzeria who gave me a $10 cash tip! Not the case with this...

It was a fairly long distance (over five miles), I had a hell of a time finding the apartment because it was so dark, and I got no tip!

Unfortunately, my excitement at the prospect of this large tip was marred by the fact I slipped on a patch of ice in the customer’s steep driveway almost immediately after getting out of the truck...

I fell flat on my face and the customer’s order went flying. Luckily, my rubber “Bane” mask protected me from any facial injuries. The customer left his garage door open so I could leave the food inside, and I didn’t make it back to the truck before he came to get the food. I rather gruffly told him that I’d slipped in his driveway when I got out of my truck, and that’s why the packaging was damaged; He insisted they’d salted it earlier but otherwise didn’t seem too concerned... :luvya:

I noticed a sticky feeling when my knee contacted the inside of my khakis, in addition to the fact that both of my knees were rather sore, and this is what I found when I got home; My left knee was fine, but my right knee not so much...

I went on a Dash this morning before the snow started...

DoorDash etiquette; If you put in a request for the Dasher (me) to call you instead of text you, then it is greatly appreciated if you answer the phone!

    7F3CFFF2-A5D2-4087-9F44-F137D4B74AD6.jpg

My job is to drop the food off at your house and leave; On top of that, when I tried calling the DoorDash “spoof” number (normally provided to protect the identities of the customer and Dasher, but rendered useless because this customer provided her personal cell phone number in the description), it said that it wasn’t in service. In addition, the name of the customer was different than the woman who’s cell phone I was calling. Ironically, her name was Karen... :D

There was no answer, so I just left the food at the front door, rang the doorbell, and left.
