Not necessarily an “odd” shape, but thought this boulder was spectacular...several more similar to this were in the area with varying stages of erosion...

I'm trying so hard to get the family to move to Idaho! WY, ID, MT, UT, somewhere not eastern South Dakota haha. We're debating coming out in the Spring to check out Mountain home and the SE corner cities to compare and contrast where we might want to live in a year or two!

Prices on houses and land have gone absolutely insane in idaho. Mt home is high desert. I was stationed there in late 90's

Non Entries: Had to share these shots captured today. I got lucky and witnessed this blue heron catching a nice afternoon snack. He pierced the fish with his upper bill and it took him a couple of minutes to work the fish around, pop it off, and snatch it out of mid-air.

Idaho is amazing. Boise & southern ID are alot warmer in winter, fwiw.
If you are not used to cold weather...

Mountain Home is a fine town. Montana is a hard winter experience. Wyoming, too, just a heads up.

    I like it here.

We're looking for land to build a homestead. Either near Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Twin Falls or Mountain Home (not too keen on seeing people in cammies every day haha), but not in any town itself. Outside city limits for sure.

All we want is to not be able to see/hear/smell our neighbors if at all possible and have room to build some homes and garden/work on our land. Don't really care if we're 5 miles out of town or 35, just want to live in the country again. This whole renting an apartment in town while the wife finishes some schooling is taking its toll on us haha. We go drive for a few hours just to get away!

If you know of anywhere like that let me know! Cheers!

    Nice photos! ha

Yup, we looked at land there a few years ago . . . Should have bought then. It's much higher now, unfortunately.
