I know this is not the place for this post, but this is the thread that makes me feel most welcome.
HZJ73 arrived Tuesday. It was dirty. Very dirty. 2000 miles of transport from NH to CO during what could be one of the coldest/snowiest storm in the past 10-20 years.
The truck driver accidentally left the key in the ACC position and drained the batteries (24v) during the 8 day drive through sub zero temps. So, it arrived to me DOA (dead on arrival). Quite frustrating after waiting 7 weeks after purchasing the truck.
Anyways, I enlisted the help of a mechanic buddy to help jump a 24v truck from 2 12v vehicles. Cruiser came to life and all is good.
The truck is tall. Very tall. As you can see, it fits in my garage with about 1/4” to spare. Phew. That was close.
RHD is fun. Shifting is weird with the left hand and also the turn signals on the right of the steering column vs. the left takes some getting used to.
Diesel is new to me. It’s a little smoky, but nothing like those full size dodge and Ford boys. It’s slow. Slow and dependable.
I’m looking forward to a new toy and playing with old school Toyota parts.

It was sketchy pulling in for the first time. I actually had to remove a bolt to make it clear. HAHA

Nice of the driver to give you some free pinstriping upon delivery...

And yea that clearance is way too close for me. :D Id probably drop some air out of the tires before parking it in there

Per your comment about it being less smokey than the Dodges, etc... A lot of those guys use illegal "farm gas" because it is cheaper. That diesel produces a lot more smoke, and I've never seen any police enforcement of someone using it instead of asphault legal fuel.

Maybe I shouldn't be telling you this...

x2 Juan. Snow is cool for a minute but I'm ready for spring. About a foot of snow last week that's slowly melting.

My trucks been a garage queen all winter except for a day of yard trailering

The 3/4 rule. 3/4 of the way through any season and I’m over it. By February I’m ready for spring. By May I’m ready for pools to be open. By August I’m ready for pumpkins and by November I’m full Xmas and snow mode.
