I've left the taco alone for a while, I need to focus on fixing the frame. That's next on my list but I really can't get a break in the weather right now. I need to move the spare 300zx living on the side of my house and put the taco bed behind it so I can pull the half truck into the garage to be cut up. I have the frame repair pieces and some internal frame coating stuff. I also got the stuff to go to Chevy 63s and ubolt flip since I have to cut the suspension off anyway.

I've got very little time these days and I'm a one man show. And my frame hasn't needed repair for a year, only about 3 months, but it's the reason the taco is parked for now. I've changed jobs 4 times in the past year, can't really seem to get back in the swing of doing things. The BMW was my way of just buying into escapism for the past little bit since I cannot afford the time to build my way into it at the moment. It's actually been pretty miserable having to shuffle shit to the side so often. I'm probably just gonna stop updating on all my projects soon since it feels like I'm no longer getting anywhere and I'll just be grateful when I can take a truck on trips again even if it is just a complete pile. Shouldn't have sold the grey truck, not because I can't afford to build another, but because I have no time to. Wouldn't mind having that shitheap back now so I could at least tag along for some camping and whatnot.

    forgot about the frame. Bummer.

    I tried to warn you...

But that's pretty much why I diverted from turning Igor into Frankenstein. I want to keep something that'll work. That and Igor already causes enough issues with maintenance for me. No time is a real thing.

Yeah, I'm determined to overcome it at some point. It's been a lot of getting used to fucked up schedules, as weather gets nice again I'll have more hours I can devote to getting work done and I'll have a bit more energy to deal with it. It's crossed my mind a few times to throw in the towel on the tacomas completely but ultimately I think I'll be happier if I just get this one where it needs to be. The no time has been a bummer, I don't even know why I work sometimes. I just don't really care, I get up and do what I'm supposed to and that's kinda it for me these days, last year was a lot and I'm tapped out on giving a fuck anymore whether its for myself or otherwise. I'll figure it out, I've got to, I've got no excuses I guess, it's not done and it's my problem.

Lens talk. Bought a 6d with the 24-105L many years ago. Have a nifty 50 for it from before when I had a 60d. Have also rented a 70-200L (the new version) for it. I will stand by the statement that the 24-105L lens is about all you need for a full frame. Depending on what you're shooting it's such a good all around lens that I won't put the Nifty 50 on even for shots it's good at because the compared image off the 24-105 is just always better in the color/sharpness/and butter factor. I've shot a few family photo sessions this year all with the 24-105 and never looked back on them and wished I had better depth. Only photog nerds notice that shit so know your audience. Getting on the same plane as your subject with a distant background will create the similar look with a slower lens. More lenses are a hindrance if you don't have multiple bodies IMO.

Long story short this LC is expensive and in the LC market its a jewel (unicorn year, lockers, pristine paint, perfect interior, rust free), so much so that it's my worst case scenario SHTF collateral. If I'm ever in dire straights its a very easy sell (though it would break my heart to do so) and it would keep me with more than enough funds to weather something major for a while. But beyond that it has tremendous sentimental value and I'd hate for anything to happen to it. Had the grey truck flipped over a cliff, the ride home wouldve sucked and the bill from the BLM for recovery would too, but oh well. The tacos are great but they don't have that same value to me, they're something I'm more willing to risk.

    Shit'll buff out my dude.

Can't really imagine the job thing, that's really gotta suck. My problem is a bit of the opposite in that I want to keep working all the time but also want to do about a million other things and ultimately that means i have no time for anything haha that and i have no place to work when it's this cold and i just am never inspired to go into the workspace because it sucks so much.

But yes, I think ultimately it's somethign you need. You might not love a lot of things about the tacoma itself, but you do love a lot of things that the taco allows to happen. Mainly camping in the woods with a bunch of other yahoos and having a good time. While I would argue that you don't need the tacoma exactly to do that, in someways it is more perfect because if it breaks you don't care haha

keep moving. It'll all work itself out. preferably over a nice campfire in the middle of no where.

    lol yeah..that...that thing.

Lots of BLM and State land between Casper and Douglas. Also a lot of traffic during speed goat season, though you can get away and still enjoy yourself in Areas 65 and 66. WYO ale works is a good place to plant yourself if you like craft beer.

He could take pics of red canyon outside of lander. Tetons of course by jackson. Hells half acre near casper to name a few. devils tower up northeast, flaming gorge down by rock springs. Many choices

Any agenda or assumed route? Wyoming is a sizeable state that differs quite a bit from east to west.

I suppose the North Fork is open too. It would be an in and out though as the snow closes it by pahaska.

Same for chief joesph highway. It's closed by Krandell but you'd get to go to dead indian pass.

Shell canyon through the big horns would be open. South pass too.

Just can really go anywhere off the highway is all.
