Either I'm older than some of you or my family just kept old cars. This is what I learned to drive in and took my test in. '76 Dodge Aspen. The photo is actually a Plymouth Volaré but they were pretty much the same. fc150ffcb8221531128da05e2e5a53d0.jpg

I took my drivers test in this boat. Believe it or not, I was able to parallel park it!

I think the Studebaker is better looking than the Aspen. The Aspen was just post oil crisis trash the big 3 in Detroit all sold. Underpowered and not much innovative about it all but it's what they had then. The 225 slant 6 was the only thing that was really solid about it.

Yeah no kidding (about taking out the CD). I actually took my youngest daughter shopping - later after I posted this. I played the CD and told her why I listen to it. She was shocked - she said she didn't realize I had those kind of emotions. OK - lesson learned - even old dogs can learn.

I too have all our old CDs stored in our music room (instruments and recording equipment for my youngest daughter). Talking about old trends...my oldest daughter is in college - she gave me her Christmas list. She is into records now and wants a nice quality record player! I used to really be into records in college too ( I finished in 1984) - but I sold most of my high end stereo set up during my stupid college broke days - I had McIntosh tube equipment (I really wish I had kept it) . Funny how trends come and go!!! She thinks it is new and hip...LOL. I actually checked to see how much to get her a set up like I had - the mcintosh units from back in my day...I thought how cool it would be to try and replicate my set up. NOT going to happen at this point in her life - maybe a graduation present.

My driving test was on a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500. And it was my car - paid $100 for it in 1975.

The one in the pic is for sale online for $35k!

Its amazing the prices of used Tacoma's, think I only paid about 600 more than that when mine was brand new.
