Standard 1911 recoil spring should be 16 lbs, with the extra power spring at 18.

    Commanders 20.

    Officers 24.

14 sounds light to me. Only reason I'd go that light is if you used low power reloads, or sub sonics.

Going back to this one. The recoil spring discussion lit a light off in my head.
The commander (Pro) slide with what should be a 20 lb spring can't strip rounds off the factory Kimber mags because the mag spring is too weak to push them up in time.

Not sure. I just googled the Kimber TAC mag and they look like standard factory Metalform mags so I'm guessing no.
With extra power mag springs (ex. Wolff) they should.

Don't quite get the idea of making a concealed carry gun look pretty... especially with slick grips like that. It's already small enough to be a bit wiggly.

Just bought mine yesterday. FL has a 3 day wait so i wont get to pick it up till thursday. I got the Springfield 1911 GI champion. Picked it up for $499. As soon as i get it i will post up some photos. First thing i am going to do is get some new grips and look at a trigger job. I cant wait to shoot it. I also got my wife a S&W sigma 9mm so pictures will be up of that too.

Would be a great service/open carry gun, but having both I much prefer a Glock 19 for carry. It carries concealed much easier and costs about the same.

My Navy themed Kimber Custom II 1911. Hooyah!!!

Shoots really well too. Also, this is not a safe queen if you were wondering. I have a holster for it and carry it at least once a week.

Engraving was done by Mark Swanson. If you need something done, let me know and I can get you in touch with him. I know he'd appreciate the work.:)

I bought it in order to have it engraved. I just got a wild hare up my but, or however the saying goes, and bought it and had it engraved... Didn't know exactly how it was going to turn out till i got it back. I trust the artist that much.
