I always just rent them as well. I have been thinking about buying one because I use them allll the time and renting them gets annoying.

there are some decently priced ones on Amazon though. Even cheaper if you get one without all of the adapters. I bought the HF one which I think is the exact same with a different name. It was like $60 with the coupon, and I figured was cheap insurance for U-joints, ball joint swaps, etc and inevitably the tool will be rented out when I need it.

Think I got the Harbor Freight version as well. It's not something I'll use all the time, but it's nice to have for non-ball joint duties. You never know what the local Auto Zone is going to have on hand. And I hate going out to get parts/tools while I'm working on stuff.

Impact is definitely the way to go. I pressed out the first one with a breaker bar (after I cut the cams and removed the bushings, so it couldn't go back in because I'm an idiot), so for the second one I bought an impact. Way easier lol

I hate having to go places while I’m working on stuff but it ALWAYS happens! Got a little better when I got a welder because I can just redneck whatever tool I don’t have.

yeah lol It came from PA and was sold in VA. I purchased it before I knew anything about cars. Thankfully frame not really that bad, I've been needle scaling and wire wheeling her.

the shells that hold the bushings in were proper crusty lolol

Sorry to derail your thread with my crusties lol. LCAs cleaned up nicely, they were slightly pitted, but not terrible. Some of this is also from me being a monkey with a needle scaler as well. Bushing shells made from an inferior metal, idk?

The pic isn't working but no need to apologize. There's no rail for this thread to derail from. Pretty much anything goes in here.

ah okay, it was inside of the LCA bushing hole thingy.

sweet, tacomaworld is a bit of a different vibe from T4R.org haha. Much more people just bro-ing out over sweet projects here, I like

I like T4R.org, but there is no comparison to the (good) traffic on tacomaworld

It’d be a long ass day. You’d probably need a hotel nearby since just the relocate alone will take 6ish hours.

Yeah. Which would time out if you were to order shocks, since they’ll have a lead time.

Yep! I have +4 and added a 1” spacer in between the axle and hard brake line bracket.
