Swapping the hood is pretty easy for a couple of semi experienced sober people.

Painting some random hood to blend with your Army Green is a professional grade job for sure.

Finding a scoop-less Army Green hood might be a feat. I think it will have to be a '21, the year the color became available on non-Pro models.

I've been scanning the hood-swapping thread. Nothing so far, at least in my geographic area. In the meantime, I'm getting used to the scooped hood. One factor that I wasn't aware of is that non-scooped hoods vibrate more. Vibration hasn't been a problem with my scooped hood. Maybe there are some tangible reasons to keep it.

If you list your hood up for trade and probably even ask for a little cash in the deal I'm sure you would have people interested. Probably the only thing working against you is the fact that 2021 is the first year of Army Green non scooped hoods so there just aren't many out there yet. I will add I was at a car wash the other day and watched as the blow dryer deflected my hood inwards o_O Never saw anything like that when I had my 2nd gen with a scooped hood.

I like it, but if I could paint part of it. The problem is it doesn't really have anything that seems like a natural break to determine a good paint line. All carbon fiber is just a bit... much. At least, for me

    A few.
If u have a friend to do the paint work for free. Thats the way to go. I priced out that list with the hood and parts at a local dealer and the total came to $585.00 including sales tax.

Really? For the whole thing, OEM? That seems a lot lower than I was expecting. Always a nice surprise

Yeah, I’ve never been much of a whole carbon fiber hood guy. I think carbon fiber is a great accent, and that is what I have kind of done with my truck, but the whole hood is just a little too much. I feel the same about it on actual “race” cars too. I’ve owned 2 cars with carbon fiber hoods, both were painted 80-90% with just a little showing.

For reference this is directly from my correspondence with the dealer for OEM parts, this included everything that was needed and I got it painted. You can also wrap part of the fiber hood or get it painted like meso did if I recall correctly.

Sorry, don't have a clue. I just told them what I wanted and left the truck for 2 weeks and came back and paid. I have the receipt but it's unavailable (also doesn't have the part numbers just total cost including paint) because I just had an epoxy floor installed downstairs where the receipt and all my stuff is.

Drive over to AZ and I will trade my hood from my new offroad AG. I will pay for the gas for you. Hey it's a silly request but worth the try, right? LOL
