Factory Suspension Differences

I recently put Kings on my 2020 TRD Off-Road. I only lifted the front an inch and left the rear stock.

Is there differences between TRD Off-Road, TRD Sport, SR5 and Limited as far as rear suspension and rear ride height? I'm trying to lower the rear about an inch and wondering if I need one of the other models leaf springs?

Any insight appreciated.

They all use the same leaf packs

 

I've parked against a number of gen3 trd or's here and they against me...same height in front. For some reason my sr5 sits slightly higher on passenger side compared to theirs.

 

they all use the same leafs like someone said above, the valving is different for a sport vs an OR, being that the OR is softer and the sport is stiffer. Why are you trying to lower the rear? You want a nose high taco? It'll drive like shit

Trying to level it out and instead of doing a 2" in the front I want to do a 1" in the front and lower 1" in the rear. I feel like 33's look tiny and weird when the truck gets too high.

Hmm this is interesting. A guy I know has a Limited and his stock sits lower in the rear.

 

Thats a good plan if you never have anything heavier than a couple hundred lbs in the bed. Otherwise everytime you go camping or hauling shit, you'll be nose high

 

Don't the 2nd gen Tacomas sit 1" lower in the rear?

Maybe have a look into 2nd gen rear leaf pack...

 

Just adjust the front height to about 1.25” lift if you want to be dead level. Im running a 1.5” lift up front and am a little taller front to rear. Also running 265/75/16s.

 

Are the King's adjustable? Just lift the front 1.5" to 2" and call it a day. Lowering the rear would be silly. Especially on a truck you seem to want to enjoy off road.

 

Again, personal preference I don't like when the front is too tall. Makes the wheels look tiny.

 

Can you take a leaf out of the pack to lower it just a bit? Or would it make the rear suspension too soft?

 

What did you use for the 1.5" lift in the front?

Do you ever put anything in the bed? The whole reason these trucks have alittle rake from the factory is so your front end isn't pointing at the sky when loaded.

Lowering the rear is going to have to involve removing a leaf spring from the stock pack. 2nd gens used to come with 3 leaf packs instead of 4 leaf so you might be able to get away with it. I can say from experience the 3 leaf packs SUCKED. Mine were completely inverted at 60k miles when I replaced them.

There was a recall because the 3 leaf packs were breaking and puncturing the gas tank. The fix was replacement with the 4 leaf pack which is what now comes standard on 3rd gens. This is why they sit alittle higher in the rear than 2nd gens.

 

I have Kings installed

 

Maybe start with removing the overload leaf and see if you like the look
