I like how it uses the bed bolts.

Yeah, I really like the integration of the factory bed bolts so no need to weld it on or use additional bolts, Which I mean I'm sure you can regardless for extra integrity but still pretty rad

Yeah that rack, I really like it but on the flip side when i go with the extended LT suspension on the rear and run the mounting points through the bed. Probably have to fab something up to clear around it

This is what I did. Starts at post 99 and continues.

Similar concept and mounts using bed bolts but had my own requirements that I integrated. The nice thing about it is it's easy to remove if you decide to go a different route or change the setup to a bed cage for bigger shocks. I actually think I could integrate shocks into this rack if I decided to go that route later on. I like the flexibility.

That rack is super clean. Its minimal and seems like its super modular! Also was probably no where near as pricy as the SDHQ Rack :spending:

Thanks! That was the goal. Carry what I need without excess and optimize the space yet keep some flexibility. An example being I can & do remove the jerry can holder unless I'm going on a long trip.

Yes, the SDHQ rack is pricey! I have a decent amount of hours into this one since it was my first and I am kind of picky with fitment, etc but even if I were to build another one for an interested party it would be significantly cheaper than their rack.

next best bet is the 454 bed rack, super easy to remove, but for another 300 bucks just get the SDHQ Rack, so much nicer

You mean you're going with shocks through the bed? If so I'd stick to a bed cage that would also accommodate a chase rack. Dirt King makes a clean one as does DMZ. Here's a few chase racks that, while don't use your bed bolts, will make it so you don't need something custom fabbed for mounting shocks and a tire carrier. The 9th pic is what I'm talking about, of course there could be a design you like better.

If I end up deciding to go the minimalistic route you'll be the first one I hit up !!

Yeah honest I think the extra 300 is worth it, It just looks so nice. I'll probably get it powder coated to match my front bumper the matte black !

I like that I just I don't know haha the sdhq just looks so clean and thinking about how I want to go about making a custom bed cage for the extended shocks if I do decide to go that route. I may talk to my father in law and we can do something in cad to map it out to see if its even possible with not an insane amount of work haha !

I also like how the sdhq rack also has the under storage for something like the maxtraxs

If you're on the fence and it'll probably not be any time soon then yeah getting the SDHQ rack and replacing it w/ something custom will work out well and I'm sure you can sell the SDHQ rack without taking a big hit in resale.

I'll 3rd, I've got one coming as well. Nicest and most complete LT kit on the market with no surprises with little bits and bobs

Yeah that's true! Resale wont be bad at all. If for some reason it is all beat up (which i highly doubt it will) I could just re powder coat it! but yeah i think the extended shock travel is going to be one of the last things i do. I know right now I want to go with camburgs spring under kit with deaver leafs

Could also just modify the SDHQ mounting points if you need to locate it elsewhere. I wonder if the rack's rear bolting location would match the rear-most bed bolts and then the fronts could be modded
