Anyone going to the avants meet today? I forgot a few people had mentioned I. I just drove by and saw the flag/banner at the gate and a jeep that was behind me whipped off into th hog fuel trail.

I dont Suppose anyone here has a hookup on acid dipping to remove rust? I’m getting sick of looking at my brown bumper that should have been painted BEFORE i decided to go on a last minute deer hunting trip TWO years ago

I bought 5 gallons of muriatic acid and used a plastic kids sled for my sliders. I just kept rolling it around and repositioning them until till it was done eating.

Essentially what ours is going to look like in a few years + fun car. Taco for family adventures/wheeling. Model Y for commuting/dropping kids off (currently have rdx). Still deciding on my fun car.

Debating on building an exocet (tube chasis miata swap) or a lotus evora.

I'll let you know that it's a well built bumper lol. I was the first 3rd gen with a non prototype high clearance with swing arm and also was the first one to get rear ended lol. Literally just scuffed the paint and ripped the plastic cover on the swing arm handle.

I've dropped and scrapped it on rocks (guess it wasn't high clearance enough eh?) and it's been completely fine. Just rattled canned it back up!

Does Navy Jelly work? I heard you could just apply and leave it on there and should eat away at it.

Get the higher acidic vinegar in bulk from Costco, I think it’s 30%? Soak it for a week for so and you’re good to go.

It looks like the code came in late P0776 check engine and traction control light on this morning on a short test-drive. Seems shift solenoid is likely the issue, when it stops raining a bit I will still try to check & top off fluid but not too confident that will fix anything.

I think I am going to replace the filter this time too just to get a peak inside
