Love me some Pyrite Mica. Just ordered a Tan Softopper for it.

I almost bought those wheels, but the guy wouldn't come down on the price. Looking good.

The guys at Dallas Offroad replaced my upper and lower control arms. I went with SPC Light Racing uppers and Moog lowers. 20180824_184856.jpg 20180824_183653.jpg

What was going on that you needed to replace both the upper and lower control arms?

I hear the OEM FJ LCA is much stronger than the Tacoma and you can (sometimes) find them on craigslist from people replacing them with aftermarket.

They were just worn out. I have well over 135,000 miles on the truck. When I lifted the truck the factory uppers are really not made to handle the new angle. As a result, it put a lot of pressure/stress on the ball joints. The ball joint wore out faster than if I would have kept it stock height. I figured the lower joints were worn out too, so I decided to replace all of them.

I haven't heard of anyone's UCA failing because of the lift...just poor alignment numbers.

switching gears to your lift. OP shows bilsteins at .85" and OME 885 springs. I thought you were supposed to leave the bilsteins at 0 when adding OME coils? Even still, that isn't a crazy lift.

Back to UCA. Unless you do some crazy trails, that shouldn't wear them out. I could see other issues in the suspension/steering system that could cause the bushings to wear out faster, but even 135k seems too soon.

Onto the LCA. Seems like you could have had the bushings and ball joint replaced for less.

You're probably right about just replacing the ball joints, but i got the Moogs for a pretty good deal. It rides nice with the new parts and a proper alignment.

I really haven't had any problems with the OME and the Bilsteins. I read about the different combos you could use with the billies, but decided with this set up.

Haven't had to chance to update my page, so here we go.

Here are a few things I've done to my truck-
-4xInnovation kick out sliders and painted them with Steel-It Stainless pigmented paint
    -Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT tires
    265/75/16
-Custom cut and bent metal bed brackets to hold an axe, shovel and fire extinguisher

Found the elusive Pyrite Mica color match grill on FB market place. I need to PhotoCollage_20210222_170350814.jpg touch up some paint, but for 60 bucks I could pass it up.

    Added some new parts yesterday.
ICON RTX 158505 HD leafs w/AAL, Bilsteins 5125's, a U-bolt flip kit and new bump stops. It gave me 2½" to the rear. Thanks to Tandem Off-Road for the install.20220331_151231.jpg 20220331_181250.jpg20220331_093633.jpg 20220331_101059.jpg 20220331_115442.jpg

Looks good OP, what option or stage did you go with on the RTX's? Any weight in the back besides your topper? Have a barely used set sitting in my garage waiting to be installed.

Would definitely recommend taking some sand paper to that rusty spot on the axle and getting as much surface rust off as you can. Then follow it up with some black spray paint. It will look better and you will feel better.

    Trucks looking good!

@BadAndy10 My friend and the ICON guy told me the set up last year when I bought them last year and I forgot. I do
know there is an AAL. They sat in my garage for almost a year before the install. The back is empty most of the time, except when we travel.

@CowboyTaco I was thinking about too.
