    It's not really a problem on the tacoma, but remember vF Tuner is used by many different Toyota owners, some with ECUs that can be bricked.

    Mat, when you mentioned the blending of optimal trans shifting torque tables, should 1:17 all be the same for best results except leave the sport table as is and out of the equation? Is there a table for low 4 specifically that you are aware of?

    @OVTune
    also curious, have you every dyno'd a tune, ran it for a tank or two and dyno'd it again? would there be any increases or losses due to the learning process?

    Ok I just downloaded and read the new instructions. Looks like good stuff coming as far as functionality. The big question is since this previous version (The one I am on now) already applied the credits toward "unlocking" this ECU-ID (04A61) will I still be able to unlock/credit/activate/whatever the VIN without having to buy new/more credits?

    Going to answer that based on experience, not necessarily with Toyotas.

    The answer to the question is a moving target. It has a lot to do with LKC (learned knock correction) tables, of which I am sure there are some in the Yota..
    When tuners are on the dyno and they flash a variant, most of the learned values are reset by default with the flash, so you flash, do a pull on the dyno and then see where you are at. NONE of the flkc/fbkc tables have settled, so while you might get a dyno "queen" run with high numbers, once the ECU retards timing and adds a bunch of fuel to try and reduce/remove knock, of course it will dyno lower if you do a pull after that has all happened.... ALL of those corrections happen ALL of the time, and they are dependent on weather, fuel quality, density altitude etc... It all factors in, so you should never expect a car to dyno the same from one day/session to the next...

    Hopefully that makes some sense.?.

    I see the new software version link is up on the vf tune site. anyone go for it yet? can we use a "new" (non registered) computer/laptop, or are we still governed by the original unit we used to register ov tune/vf tune? Ski

    Maybe I missed it, to return a truck to stock and remove a tune do I reflash a new stock tune?

    If so where can I locate the stock parameters?

    The stock tunes are in the program folder or vftuner

    Stock tires with different gear ratios.

    Your stock gear ratio is 3.9, which means your file is regular stock... the others are if you have regeared your truck which you probably have not, otherwise you would know :)
