I think you made a good choice of tire. Although, the tire size debate will never die. :playball:

I'm excited to come up with some good tests for them. I wanna do some science and maybe even do a writeup

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
I heard all ya'll Navy guys do your electrical one handed. Never known how you do it, but you should be fine in the rain.

***off topic post*** my canopy will be arriving in the next 4 weeks(I hope). Any tips, advice, wish you had known, when getting it installed or after you have it on?

The guys from my ARE dealership never got those voids near the cab sealed with caulking properly. I also tried a handful of times and little leaks of water would still make it in. I have the canopy off right now because I sold a guy my factory bed cover and had to swap bed rail caps.

When I reinstall in a month or two I’m going to try some butyl tape on those gaps. Think I might epoxy a couple plastic hooks inside for curtains/other light things to hang in there while camping in it too.

Also really wish I had sprung for windoors too.

I purchased an ARE also, from NW Truck Accessories. If you have time and think if it, mind shooting a picture of what area exactly you are referring too? Is it in the bed or once the cap is on?
I did heed others advice and for one windoor on the drivers side. Not sure what made me choose to do only one, but I did.

Without digging back in previous posts for details, did you get any form of roof support built in? This way you can add a kayak/canoe rack or even support a RTT?

I did not get support. I was going to, but was told it will hold 500lbs of static weight as it sat.

This thread talks about it too. I think it’s a common problem, especially if you had the factory bed cover. Mine had those “toyota bed gaskets” from the dealership too, then the guys caulked it as well. When I called after a month they said I could bring it back in and then the guy muttered “goddamn Tacoma’s” haha

Pretty sure I’m going to scrape off the foam seals they used and put good rubber ones on when I put it back on too, just for good measure.

So it doesn't have anything built in niw to allow you to bolt things to, or do you have drill and make it happen as needed?
