I have received a few emails back from the shops I contacted.

    One from Fulcrum Suspensions in Queensland, they said this;

I have spoken to the engineering department and he will forward your email to a contact in the usa to contact you. They guys I spoke to believe it is our “prado”. So the part numbers would be “TRC480” upper arms TRC482 for the offset lower arms. He did also say that the Tacoma has a wider track so his info maybe wrong.
He will look into it with superpro usa and someone will be in contact with you.

I also chatted with a guy from Bendigo Tyre who went and compared pictures of the Tacoma control arms I sent him to a Hilux and they look to be the same LCAs. This was the initial email before I sent him pictures.

I can’t tell you for sure because we don’t have that vehicle here, but looking at pictures and the limited amount of suspension components I can see on various cars for sale, I think the front suspension looks the same. If you could get me some better photos, we can start with that, and then I can give you some measurements of the various components to check.
Couldn’t really see much of the rear suspension in any pics, so I guess some bush measurements may be the best way to go.

That's all we've got so far. I am still talking back and forth so hopefully we can exchange some measurements and get a clear idea of what will be compatible.

    I'll keep everyone posted!

Did you look into a serrated washer to mimic the OEM bushings, by chance? While I wait for my parts to arrive, your comment has me questioning if that's an option but don't want to waste my time if it's already been discounted.

The primary reason I disliked them so much was due to the pain in the ass way of greasing them, not the washers. I must’ve been angry at the bushings when writing that comment for whatever reason but I don’t really hate them per say. Just more upkeep and maintenance than rubber.

What is this special greasing method you suggest?

Removing the LCA in it's entirety, tapping out the metal sleeve, coating it in grease and reinstalling.

:notsure: I don't see any instructions from Whiteline for regreasing or the need to regrease them.

They're a poly bushing and they need to be regreased like any other poly bushing. They start squeaking horribly otherwise.

I hate to bring up an old thread but I'm at a crossroads. I can purchase two NAPA LCA for about $420 with the OEM looking serated washers, or I can press in the WL bushings and ball joints in a pair of OEM LCA I picked up for cheap for $155 and $60ish for a pair of BJs with zerk fittings.

After reading this thread I'm not totally sold that the WL bushings are the 100% best option. I feel they're better than say the Rockauto LCA, but are Polyurethane bushings that much better than the "rubber" bushings?

I just installed mine.... oem bushings bind when drooping these polys have alot more articulation.

My old ones are for sale. If you can save yourself money and just rebuild a old set, oem balljoints and poly bushings you will be happier

My wife calls my truck McCreaky now.

I would 70% go with the oem rubber bushes next time.

If you need them do it but if it's just a daily I would advise against the whitelines.
    That's just my opinion though.

Edit: Maybe I'm just salty because I know I'm going to have to pull the lca's to regrease them.

Nah, I'd say for a regular onroad truck rubber should be fine, gotta ask yourself how long the originals lasted. "street" trucks and offroaders are where poly bushings shine.

I just rebuilt a set of arms. Can confirm, major PITA.

I added a set of grease zerks for the bushings, as I've learned my lesson that every poly bushing should be easily greaseable... Just drilled and tapped the arm, and continued the hole through the bushing.

No clue how will it will work yet, but I don't see why it won't work. I'll probably have to loosen the cam bolts slightly for the best results.

I contacted whiteline about tapping them for zerks when I did mine, and they said its perfectly fine to do so, and will of course make maintenance easier. I didn't do it though because I'm dumb lol :anonymous: Mine haven't been squeaky and its been 8k miles on the swap, going to pull them to regrease and tap for zerks this summer

For anyone that stumbles on this thread in the future, I have a writeup on T4R.org I made when I replaced mine. Its not an end all, be all guide, but has 120+ pictures to at least give an idea of what the process is like:

Go OEM, poly bushings are annoying and don’t offer much benefit if any at all in this location.

That said, I read about putting in uniball pivots instead which isn’t as easy but would definitely be an upgrade. @81Trekker did it if I recall correctly. Not sure if he has pics or can elaborate on how to make the sleeves/spacers
